Picture Polish Scarlett

It was on Valentine's Day a year ago when my Brazilian sis in polish and I managed to meet in Paris!!! To the day, the time we shared is so vivid in my memory and I am really sad, that we could not repeat to meet at this year's Valentine… oh well, I am sure, we will find another opportunity to spend another wonderful day together. Why I am sharing this here? Last Thursday I finally managed to fetch my Picture Polish nail polish order I placed with Pshiiit from my post office which sat there since a couple of days already. I was simply over the moon and immediately posted a nail mail picture on Instagram. Pri texted me and asked to see Scarlett first. But every day life ruled these past two days and left me with no time to play with nail polish in daytime so I decided to dedicate this post to my beloved friend Pri - here she comes, Scarlett, in all her beauty for you!

Scarlett is a red base filled with red shimmer, red, silver and purple micro glitter and scattered holographic particles. The load of purple and pink micro glitter actually turns the color into crimson red and adds an incredible depth to Scarlett:

I applied two coats of Picture Polish Scarlett over my regular Base Coat. The formula is perfect - it is everything you ever wanted a polish to be. Dry time was on the quick side and the finish was shiny and smooth. Given the overcast weather I could not really catch the holo effect but what you see in the above pictures is what Scarlett looks in normal winter weather - spectacular - no?

I cannot remember where I read that reference but it was suggested that Picture Polish Scarlett might be worth a comparison with A England Rose Bower - well, read it and obeyed:

Pinkie and middle: Picture Polish Scarlett
Ring: A England Rose Bower
Index: A England Briar Rose (I threw that one in for good measure)

Summary: While I would say that they belong into the same range of reds they clearly are only distantly related. And while Rose Bower comes close with regard to the base color, the finish is very different as it doesn't hold Scarlett's shimmer. I hope this comparison is helpful to those of you interested...

Final thoughts: I am so into reds and pinks lately and bordeaux and purple lately so I am sure you can fathom my excitement over Scarlett!!! It is discreetly spectacular and I just can envision Scarlett wearing this red along with her green velvet dress made of the curtains, can't you?

I ordered Picture Polish Scarlett with Pshiiit Boutique.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

  1. This is a beautiful color that looks gorgeous on you. <3 To me, it looks like a combination of the 2 A Englands as far as color and shimmer. And hmmmmm...*maybe* if Scarlett had worn this polish with her curtain dress to visit Rhett Butler in jail, she really *would* have made him believe she wasn't having money troubles!! :D
