Saturday Skittlette featuring Cult Nails Fetish

Since quite a while I wanted to do a Skittlette combining black and red, but somehow inspiration just would not bring forward this YESSS idea. Some weeks ago Cult Nails had an awesome sale night (I think it was buy 4 get 2 or something like this) and I dived head-first in and finally got myself the much praised black wax polish Fetish and the equally praised white polish Tempest.

It happened truly by pure incident, that the selected colors mirror the colors on Mark's helmet. Please meet the cast:

From left to right:
Hare Polish Own Your Opulence, Cult Nails Tempest, Opi Red Lights Ahead Where?, Cult Nails Fetish.

Recipe:
Pinkie: Two coats of Opi Red Lights Ahead Where?
Ring: Two coats of Cult Nails Tempest, one coat of Hare Polish Own Your Opulence
Middle, index and thumb: two coats of Cult Nails Fetish

and two more pictures, above taken in artificial light and below outdoors in the rain - errrr shade

This really is a very simple Skittlette and also so easy to adapt. After two days, I felt like changing it just by a twinge and replaced Opi Red Lights Ahead Where? with China Glaze Sunday Funday:

And some more info: you see the tiny shiny line on my middle finger? Well, when I woke the morning after I did the Skittlette my black nails were badly bedsheet-marked. I (by error) used a shiny Top Coat and applied another layer of Cult Nails Fetish. Note to self: use matte Top Coat next time. And then about Hare Polish Own Your Opulence - my pictures don't show the beautiful tiny pastel glitter particles of this polish. They are baby blue and soft pink - they add such a soft and sweet touch complementing the black hex and square glitter particles. Then also the golden particles are not visible here but they add the just most wonderful shine to the look and really finish it off perfectly.

I buy my Cult Nails from their own Website, I ordered Hare Polish Own Your Opulence with Llarowe, China Glaze Sunday Funday with Head2Toe and Opi Red Lights Ahead Where? with Bath & Unwind. Unfortunately I cannot order from them anymore due to the UK Royal Mail restrictions. But Nail Etc has all these collections available online as well.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

  1. Hi pet! I love your skittlette! And maybe it wasn't a coincidence that the colours match Marks helmet ;) I'm thinking something in the line of the film "Ghost" here ;) Have you seen it?
I love that red OPI! Red Lights something ;) I have it to and it's so bright and juicy! :) Viele Küsschen! xxx
PS. So glad to hear from you again! :D

    1. Hi love, thank you so much <3!!! I agree - you know, your words on stardust just accompany me day in and out and give me so much strength!!! Yes, I saw Ghost (and always cried my eyes out). Mark will always stay in my heart - as close to me as possible.
The Opi is real stunner - having it on my toes too. But aren't those names just a pain? Ever since I started blogging I got over this mania of endlessly long polish names that no sane person is able to memorize.....
I am glad to be back too - going back to routine is an important part of living through mourning and I also have professional help (there are limits to what a lone person can handle).

      Viele, viele Küsschen

  3. Hi Christine! so good to have you back.
I love your skitelettes, I can see the pastel glitter too! (well I always enlarge the pics because I'm a sucker for all glitter, lol!) what I'm really impressed is how big is the effect changing only one nail, amazing.
Keep on like this, routine is a great thing, and time also. Sending you warm hugs.

    1. Hi Essie, awwww thank you xxx!!! I take all my photos with my iPhone and for the artificial light: the old lamp died a week ago and Mark was hoarding lamps giving bright lights and I found this one in his workshop, so as of now a part of him will be in each and every post of mine <3!!! Love, Christine

  7. This is beautiful on so many levels and I agree that it's no coincidence that the colors mirror Mark's helmet ♥ Fetish looks WICKED cool with the matte topcoat (or maybe it's just your photos ;)) Bottom line, you continue to amaze me, again, on so many levels. ♥♥♥

    1. Hi Liesl, first things first - you cannot imagine the impact your support has on me to carry on through those days, so I can just give this right back to you - you are so wonderful to me - thank you <3!!! On to the Skittlette: Fetish dries down to this hot wax finish, definitively a must-have in my stash!!!! Giving the helmet matching colors another thought: Mark would love it :-) Love, Christine
