Scofflaw Koi Pondering

After having shown you a new to my stash brand two days a go and yesterday one of my old untrieds I combine the two today - I ordered Scofflaw Koi Pondering when Llarowe launched Scofflaw on their site - I think that was way back in July or something around that time. Ever since I never gave this brand a try (blushing ashamedly). It is really time to have a look at this beautiful royal blue filled with micro glitter particles, golden yellow, red and pale blue hex glitters.

the above pictures are taken indoors in day and artificial light, the below photo outside in the shade

I applied three thin coats of Scofflaw Koi Pondering over Essence Hardening Nail Base. I found the formula while thin wonderful to work with. I might repeat myself here but I started to apply glitter-sparse first coats to get an even "foundation" to build-up with glitter dense layers. I found this reduces the bumpiness or grittiness (this is depending on the polish consistency) and honestely, one rarely sees the glitter of the first polish coat after slapping on some more. The polish ended exactly where I wanted to have it, no patches or bald spots. And while the look of the mani was nice at two coats, I love my royal blues a bit more saturated and strong - hence the third coat. As to be expected with such a glitter density, the surface ends up bumpy (not gritty). My current favorite Top Coat Glisten & Glow HK Girl though smoothed all of it out wonderfully.

Final thoughts: now I really deserve a slap on the back of my head for not reaching for Koi Pondering any earlier. What a gorgeous, pretty, vivid shade that is!!!!! I admit, I went into ordering some more after swatching Koi Pondering. I like the combination of the colors, the micro glitter, the base color and just as important, the quality of the polish!!!

I ordered Scofflaw Koi Pondering with Llarowe and when I checked last, it was still available.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!

  2. Funny that Melissa mentioned Pacman because this reminds me very much of Glam Polish Pacman. You're making me want to wear it again! Fun that the base and glitter colors are spot on for both visuals :) Good call on the sparse base layer-- I'll certainly try out that technique.
