Undies and Toppers

In my NOTD's of the week as well on Instagram I have been whining about bad polish behavior during warm weather. Well it is not only the polish that can behave poorly - it is the Undies and Toppers that can be as prone to temperatures. I thought it might be nice for once to share which Base and Top Coats I use in warmer temperatures to not ruin my manis.

I could fit all of the well-behavers in one picture - from left: Zoya Anchor Base Coat, A England The Knight Base Coat, A England The Shield Top Coat, Butter London Hardwear Top Coat and Vefic Top Coat.

Not included in the picture above but an equal stunning performer is Nfu Oh Aqua Base Coat.

All of the above listed Base Coats applied just as usual and dried very fast. Their surface did not remain sticky or gluey resulting in ghastly application of the colored nailpolish.

For the Top Coats goes the same: no surprises, no bubbles, no stickiness and all of them dry really fast.

I realize that none of them are available just round the corner here in Switzerland and I don't own any of the "usual suspects" (read Opi, Essie, Seche Vite) in my stash - nor the famous Wicked Fast from Cult Nails (but that one is on its way to me as I type this). My usual go to Base and Top Coat from Essence are no good in this heat - bubbles left and right and just looking at a nail done with them brings  shudders down on me. Oh well, they enjoy a well deserved break and will be resurrected once the temperatures drop back to nice warm vs sweltering hot.

I would be happy to read about your experiences and what Undies and Toppers you use when the weather is not "cooperating" with our nailpolish plans!!!

Thank you for visiting!!!
Christine

  1. Hi pet! What an awesome post! Very useful! I unfortunately don't have any of these undies and toppers, but the ones I have are performing well in spite of the heat. I use Essie Nourish Me and Seche Vite. SV dries a tiny bit slower actually but still does its job :) Viele Küsschen!! xxx

    1. Hi doll, glad you like the slightly different post. And hmmmm you are quite convinced by SV, right? I might have to finally dip my nails into it... I was always shying away because of hearing how gluey it gets halfway through the bottle... and the polish shrinkage. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday - puss, puss xxx

  2. Thank you for this post! With the summer weather, I'm experiencing a lot of bubbles with my go-to topcoats, Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and Essence BTGN. I guess it's too late go get some of your recommendation for the current heat wave, but the next summer will definitely come, so I can be prepared for then ;-)

    1. It was your comment about the Glitter Food that made me type up this post - so I am truly happy that you like this post. Maybe we find some more heat-resistant stuff until next year ;-) - thank you xxx
