Saturday Skittelette featuring The Nail Junkie Fish

I must have lost some of my remaining sense when Sheila from Pointless Cafe introduced some awesome Nail Junkie polishes - next thing I know, I find myself on the Etsy site of Aleta (she is the wizard creator of The Nail Junkie) virtually throwing polishes into my virtual shopping cart!!

After an incredible short delivery time from US to Switzerland I found them this week in my mailbox coming home from work. Is there ANYTHING better to be found in your mailbox? Well, nothing has yet topped the letter from the tax office, stating that they made a mistake in calculating my taxes and I have to pay about 2000 Swiss Francs less than originally announced (nailpolish beware, I am coming)!!!

One of the beauties ordered from The Nail Junkie is Fish from Aleta's Animal Collection. This polish is so complex - it deserves a post of it's own - it's planned for next week. For now just let's say it is grey/gold/blue/silver infused shimmer filled with sky blue round holo glitter (if they are not round, blame it on me not wearing my reading glasses).

But let's look at the ingredients I choose for this week's Skittelette:

From left: Opi Liquid Sand Tiffany, Cult Nails Faded and The Nail Junkie Fish

The recipe:
Pinkie, index and thumb: 2 coats of The Nail Junkie Fish
Ring and middle:  2 coats of Cult Nails Faded, the dots are Opi Tiffany and to mirror Fish, I placed a hex holo glitter piece on each of the dots to mirror Fish - and no, it is not fussy to get them on to the dots - actually it was a lot easier than I expected.

I kept this Skittelette quite simple - in this heat many of my polishes act weird and the waiting time in between painting the nail and "decorating" it, has grown disproportionally to my patience. In addition, Fish is so special and unique, it would be a pity to throw in a distracting color.

I don't want to spoil too much about Fish but let's just state that it behaved perfect despite the heat. Stay tuned for more about Fish....

I ordered The Nail Junkie Fish from Aleta's Etsy Shop here. I purchased Cult Nails Faded from their own website and Opi Tiffany from Nail etc.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

    1. Hi Melissa - LOL - I at least hoped so, after all you have shown me how gorgeous such polishes can look like - I so far mostly shied a bit away from metallics. Well as for Tiffany, it was planned differently - but the dots on their own frankly were just blah next to Fish so I went fishing for those hexes ;-)
