Cadillacquer Echo - A Swiss nailpolish for our National Holiday 1 August

Today is the Swiss National Holiday, 1 August. In 1291 the Confederation Letter was signed and can to this day be viewed in a museum in Schwyz. Today we count 8 Million inhabitants and are one of the more densely populated countries in Europe.

What better opportunity to grab a Swiss nailpolish than on our National Holiday? Please meet Cadillacquer Echo:

I applied two coats of Cadillacquer Echo over one coat of A England Bridal Veil. The consistency is fabulous and the application was fantastic. I would consider drying time as normal. Now I ground my teeth over photographing Echo. No matter what I tried, the blue and turquoise glitter pieces just would not let themselves get photographed. IRL they were as visible as on my photos of the mattified mani below:

The above pictures is taken indoors in daylight, the below photos outdoors, the first in the sun, the second in the shade

I used one coat of A England Bridal Veil as base:

I ordered Echo with Cadillacquer's Etsy Shop but according to a note on the Shop Site Cadillacquer moved to Big Cartel. You can order Cadillacquer also with Harlow & Co and Llarowe.

It is exactly one year since I put my first post live. It was a Skittelette with the colors of our flag, red and white. Originally I wanted to post a red and white Skittelette today too and once I finished it and worked the pictures I went back to my archive and looked at my very first post - DANG - I nearly redid the same mani:

So today is sort of my first Blog Anniversary - but then I only posted twice and stopped for at least another month. I only seriously got into blogging sometime in September last year so it will always be sort of hard to define a real Anniversary for my Blog ;-)

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

  1. Happy blogging anniversary! It's great that your blog and your country began on the same date! :D This is a gorgeous polish, and I bet it really glows in person. It reminds me a bit of Sally Hansen Mermaid's Tale.

    1. Hi Melissa - thank you - a year ago I found it a quite fun idea to start my Blog on a memorable day (I am SOOOOO bad with these I have to admit). It really glows IRL and I am still frustrated if I think how badly my photos turned out - aaaaargh - it is even not the first time I swatched and photographed this and still - I am not very happy with the result :-S!!! xxx

  4. Hi pet! Happy blog anniversary and Happy National Day!! How great that they are on the same day!! :D
I don't know when my blog anniversary is...?? I must check! But I also had a few pauses so it's really hard to tell ;) But I have posted every day now for 14 months! :D
I love that Cadillacquer polish!! When I saw it matte I almost fainted ;) I love your skittelette too! Very appropriate for today! :D Viele Küsschen!!! xxx
PS. I never received any mail from you... Did you send one or is it something wrong with my mail connection...?!?!

    1. Hi doll - thank you love <3!!! I would never remember the date I started the blog when it would not be for the National Holiday - LOL!!! And I started and paused right away so somehow this does count only half I find. The Skittelettes were fun to do - having only red and white in the flag sort of limits options, especially when one is so bad at nailart and I found a dotticure to reminiscent of petticoats to do them - LOL!!! I did send a proper e-mail by now and my original one got sent now too - sorry, I did not realize it was never sent :-( - viele Küsschen xxx

    1. Thank you Vicky <3!!! Mattified it reaches really new dimensions - however IRL the shiny version is as pretty - I am just UNABLE to capture it (see there is still some annoyance in me about this - LOL)

    1. Thank you <3!!! You are right - I should credit you for hooking me to the Cadillacquers - I have one more to show, if you don't mind, I will refer to you as the reason for getting me into Cadillacquer and add a link - would you mind?

  7. Hi Christine! Happy Blogversary and Happy Bational Day too. I didn't know that August, 1st was Swiss ND! And we live so near each others!
Cadillacquer is an intriguing indie brand, maybe in the future I think to buy some polishes. Echo is BEAUTIFUL, and I prefere the matted version. So cool!

    1. Hi Francine - Thank you dear xxx!!! Haha now I feel just so much better - I don't know your National Holiday either (yep neighbors and oblivious to those dates). I only started to get into Cadillacquers after I saw pictures of their darker colors - in the beginning I only saw pastel and milky glitters and while I really, really find them pretty, I am not wearing those I have, so I skipped them until I saw Echo...

    2. "National", not "Bational". Sorry.
Italian National Holiday is June, 2nd, the date of Repubblican Referendum (1946).

    3. Haha I could guess the Bational :-D - those typos happen to me all the time and sadly I discover them only AFTER hitting "publish" :-P!!! Thank you - let's see if I remember 2 June in a year - thanks for sharing xxx

    1. Thank you my dear friend - oh now I am all mushy here, dabbing away a tear (yep, I am quite soft these days), I can only give this wonderful compliment back. My world would be a lot less colorful and bright without knowing you!!! And I will never forget how much support and friendship you gave me from the very beginning. You were here for me with advice for my Blog and warmth for my heart - you make such a difference!!! Mark would be so relieved to know that I have friends like you around me!!! Thank you again <3!!!! And Echo is stunning - much less so my skills to photograph it - aaargh!!! I am not giving up just yet, I am sure I go back to it in one of my NOTDs of the week ;-)
