Greetings from the Stamp Camp

I haven't posted in THREE days - eeeeks!! But I have two good excuses: first my work life - I am a Personal Assistant of two managers (I describe myself as Miss Moneypenny of the 21 century) and while this works pretty well most of the time, the last two weeks were hardcore. Secondly I am the proud owner of my first set of MoYou Stamping Plates and practice stamping and nail art frantically - trust me, the effort is needed, I am not a natural talent. So there you have it - not time to line up the posts I have planned :-S

Today I would like to give you another sneak peak into my Stamp Camp activity - please show mercy in your judgement

Pinkie: two coats of A England Camelot and a crystal stud from Pshiiit Boutique
Ring and middle: three coats of Dance Legend Morning Dew, stamped with MoYou Suki Plate 08
Index and thumb: two coats of Cult Nails Ignite

OK - I have yet miles to walk down the stamping road to get decent results. But I love to mix patterns and I haven't yet figured the proper position of the stamp over the nail. This leaves me - as seen above - with too much empty space on my nails. I think my basic idea to stamp "something" into that empty spot was not bad per se, but I could have selected a better motive - oh well it is what it is, and for now I am returning to my practice lessons ;-).

I cannot get round on saying a word or two (or three) about Dance Legend Morning Dew. It is a beautiful soft light blue filled with white flakies - incredibly delicate and it reminds me of a blue I saw on some Wedgewood tableware years ago. Beautiful, no? Sadly the formula of my bottle was one big challenge. The formula is thin and sheer - throw in ridged nails and I am sure you see where I am heading to. The first coat was - yes - sheer and streaky. The second, despite some minutes in-between application, did not add any remarkable coverage AND dragged polish from the first coat - UGHH! After some more waiting and the second coat, I slapped on an intermediate layer of Top Coat to smooth the surface of my nails to get the third coat on even. I found the application so troublesome, that I did not go for a full mani to show Morning Dew here. Dry time is normal to slow - just to put the icing on the troublesome cake. However, I did  test a new Base Coat and I want to give Dance Legend Morning Dew the credit of just being not compatible with the Base Coat - Maybelline Whitener Base Coat - which is new in our racks at Coop here.

And to just show you what else I have been wearing:

I ordered Dance Legend Morning Dew with Llarowe and the MoYou Stamping Plate with their own website. Cult Nails Ignite was purchased directly from their own website too.

I tremble in awaiting your comments…. LOL!!! Thanks for stopping by
Christine <3

    1. Oh thank you sweetie!!! The blue is lovely indeed - need to try it over a different Base Coat soon! The holo was a real eyecatcher - it is so strong, that the stamping disappeared in most lights - oh well...

  3. Practice makes perfect :) I just don't want to invest in stamping and find I never take to it/improve enough.

I do like the double stamps, etc. That DL blue is pretty, I seem to be in search of a light blue like that. Maybe I will stick that on a llarowe order, since hopefully it was just a bad combo with a particular base coat...

    1. IKR - I felt safe in stampless land until one of my dear Blogger friends nudged me over the MoYou Edge and all of a sudden I cannot stop anymore - LOL - by now even clean-up nails and tools became a breeze. I will wear this blue over a different Base Coat and report back - despite twisting arms and legs I cannot think of a similar one with an alleged better formula... However it would be my first Dance Legend that has a less than flawless formula which would really surprise me....

  4. Forgive my delay in commenting...I have been so busy it seems that I run out of blog time. :( I pull your beautiful stuff up every day and think "wow, that's pretty!" and then I start doing something else. Boo...but wow, that's pretty!! I have been stamping a bit lately, and I'm crummy at it, but it's the one form of nail art that I can tolerate well enough. These are both gorgeous...I really love that bamboo stamping over the pale blue! <3

    1. There is nothing to forgive - what should I say? I am in the exact same position - work was a rollercoaster and had me collapsing on my sofa evening after evening. I was as late in commenting on yours or replying to comments (ugh). Yay!!! You are stamping too!!! How awesome and isn't it fun? We could team up for a twin post sometime to report from our stamp camp progress - what do you think? I loved the Bamboo too - better than the lace actually which I found was too intricate for the minimal contrast but at least it covered up the flaws - LOL <3 thank you dear <3
