Mentality Polish Week: Emily

This week I want to show you my latest haul of Mentality Polishes. I got drawn to this brand through My Nail Polish Online (link here) - one of my favorite Blogs and one I followed already months and months before I decided dipping my talons into blogging myself. I saw Mentality Cobbler on her Blog and I was captured. The next thing I remember is me surfing Harlow & Co trying to make up my mind which ones to get. Some time ago I posted about my first Mentality Polish Brute. And now I am so happy to have amassed so many that I can show a themed week!!!!

I start with Mentality Emily, a forget me not colored holographic polish. Emily has a soft holo rainbow reminiscent of A England holos of the Burne Jones Collection and casts an intense blue metallic shine in the same color as the base color depending on the angle of your nails. In the sun it seems as if the mostly orange and turquoise twinkling holo rainbow is laid over the bright blue shine.

Beware - today I spam you with a ton of outside pictures. But then the sun was in and out between clouds throwing varying intensities of rays and I could not stop clicking away...

I applied two coats of Mentality Emily over Seche Ridge Filling Base Coat and finished the mani with Glisten&Glow HK Girl. The formula and consistency once more reminded me strongly of A England polishes. It is slightly thick for a holo, very much like a cream and applies like velvet onto the nails. The dry time is quite fast for such a thick formula. Side note: I always apply Glisten&Glow HK Girl over my holo polishes as I find this particular Top Coat enhances the polish as a whole without diminishing the holographic effect. Since many holo polishes come with an extra shimmer or shine as of late, this Top Coat is a real asset in my stash.

Comparison with A England Dancing With Nurejev. Pinkie and middle A England Dancing With Nurejev, ring and index Mentality Emily.

They are quite different, mind you. Dancing With Nurejev clearly is lilac next to Mentality Emily and while has a stronger holo lacks the underlying shine. Emily's holo is linear while A England Dancing With Nurejev has more of a scattered holo. Formula wise Mentality Emily is creamier and dries faster.

Final thoughts: Emily clearly is a one of a kind holo and I have to admit, I adore the creamy formula. And how rare these days to be able to exclaim: WHAT A UNIQUE HOLO!!!!

I ordered Mentality Polish Emily with Harlow&Co.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
