I am exited to show you Mentality Regal today. Regal is loaded with purple shimmer that is dark around the edges but never looks black, rather a blackened purple - errr does that make sense??? I would describe it as matte suede finish with a darker base color and trillions and gazillions of tiny-winy shimmer particles in magenta and a bright blue that create depth and a matte glow
I applied two coats of Mentality Regal over Seche Ridge Filling Base Coat and an intermediate layer of Top Coat. The formula is highly pigmented and has just the right consistency between thin and tick. Dry time is spectacularly fast, as you might expect from a matte polish. If you want to protect your matte polish I would suggest that you apply a matte-matte Top Coat like the one by Mentality Polish - I ordered it with my first-ever Mentality Polish order and have been using it left and right since - it is amazing.
And now look at this sparkling glory once a glossy Top Coat is applied:
I wore Mentality Regal as a full mani and mistaken it for a quick slap and go polish. I got fooled by the rapid mattiefied surface and the dry to touch state of my nails. I wore it matte with matte Top Coat and was done with my nails more than 30 minutes before I left the house. By the time I sat in the tram I saw dents and even a lump of crinkled polish including a bare patch on nearly all the nails of my left hand. And my actions did not include anything beyond getting shoes onto my feet, pulling on my jacket, assembling keys and so on. So no spectacular last minute household chore that I am so famous for among my friends. To make the long story short: Regal took certainly a full hour to dry to the level to not be hyper sensitive to anything beyond a soft touch to the nail. Truth being told, I find this definitely an area worth to explore improvement.
Final thoughts: Regal is another stunning matte by Mentality!!! And I found it to be a much needed base for quite a range of glitters and effect toppers in my collection ;-)
I ordered Mentality Regal with Harlow&Co.
I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for stopping by!!!
