Another pink Skittelette using Butter London Fash Pack Mini Set with Pinks

The one thing that kept me going through my spring cleaning action was the promise I gave to myself to tramp to my local nail polish watering hole once I am done. Imagine that extra twirl I gave to my dust cloth to get done sooner rather than later. The trip to my nail polish watering hole was disappointing though - no new things and whatever was there was left behind last time for the one or the other good reason. I splurged though on some new Nike Free's for my TRX lessons (my latest Fitness addiction). But no amount of joy of my feet could cover the somewhat let down feel on my nails. So back on to the road and tramping to my beauty watering hole which would be Globus. Since December they carry Butter London, though so far, I never got beyond admiring the beautifully arranged rack as they claim exorbitantly high prices for them - read two bottles of Butter London when ordered through Pshiiit Boutiqe. So imagine my excitement when I discovered two sets of five mini Butter London sets at 24 Swiss Francs which is quite a deal, considering a full bottle is more expensive.

Teddy Girl
Fruit Machine
Fairy Lights
Primrose Hill Picnic
Queen Vic

And now it is playtime:

Two coats of Fruit Machine - the formula is fantastic, well nearly anything flows on easily over that Seche Ridge Filling Base Coat. It dries quick to the high shine visible in the photo below

One of the resolutions I made for 2014 way back in January was to subscribe to A Box Indied by Llarowe (what's not to love with this kind of resolutions - hehe). Dollish Polish Heart Braker came in the February box and is a clear based glitter containing matte and shiny glitter in white, pale pink, Barbie pink, vibrant fuchsia in any size from tiny bar snippets to fairly big and even some cutsie bows. I painted/dabbed one coat of Heart Braker over Fruit Machine.

I could not resist to venture into Skittelette territory: on my pinkie two coats of Primrose Hill Picnic, ring and middle I kept from the above mani and my index is a striped mix of two coats of Teddy Girl, one coat of Fruit Machine and one coat of Primrose Hill Picnic.

Final thoughts: I love the versatility of this set, once I started playing, more and more ideas started flooding from my manicure well. I think it is great that Butter London has those minis offered now at a totally reasonable price.

I bought this mini set with Globus in Basel.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for stopping by!!!
Christine

  2. That is some great motivation! I should bring that up to C and see what he thinks, lol :D Although I think at this point I'd go for shoes, lol. SO awesome that you're able to get some BL minis at a reasonable price. I have two, picked up at my fave makeup store's Black Friday sale this past November. I have yet to wear them, though. I LOVE Butter's pinks. You know how some brands just "do" certain colors better than others? Butter's GOT this shade, and oddly, I have none of the colors in this set! Primrose Hill Picnic has been calling my name for years and I'm not sure why I don't have it-- I think when i have that one in my head to purchase, I end up distracted by something newer, lol. Anyhoo, I LOVE this mani you've created! All these shades look so beautiful and lively on you and Heart Braker is the perfect finishing touch. My #1 lem is a Dollish Polish that I've long since given up on-- It's called I'm A material Girl and I haven't even checked her site to see what availability is like. I stalked it once, missed out, and got all discouraged, lol.

    1. Thank you sis!!! Except for Fruit Machine I haven't any of the shades either - this being the reason I got it and honestly, 6ml of polish are more than enough, I hardly manage to get serious dents in my normal sized bottles - LOL!!! I splurged by going for shoes AND polish but then getting new shoes was overdue as my old ones were not doing anything beyond preventing me from walking barefoot!!! Some benefit needs to come out of all this cleaning, no? And I hear you about older shades, I tend to dump them right after seeing a newly released beauty :-S. Bummer about Dollish Polish - I know the feel, I have my share of missed out polishes but since I don't keep track I cannot remember a single one - cannot be that important then, no? Curious to hear C's comment though - LOL

  3. What a gorgeous skittlette! :) I adore Fruit Machine, and although I don't have it, I recently acquired Teddy Girl. Of course, that turned out to be a disaster, because as we all know, BL hates me. I got a Fash Pack mini set too for 5 BUCKS during my BL shopping spree, but who knows if they will behave on me?? I'm sorry...I just realized this whole comment was a downer, LOLOL!!

    1. Not at all - you started out stating you like the Skittelette - ah ja, you and BL have a hate/love relationship - odd how some formulas just don't cooperate with our nail chemistry. 5 bucks? Lucky you!!!! This would equal to 4 Swiss Francs or thereabouts but then I think I dwelled often enough in self pity for what they claim here in shops for polishes ;-)! I hope your week started great!!! <3

  4. Oooh love this skittlette, Christine! It's all various shades of pink, so what's not to love!? ;) I like the way you mix-and-matched finishes, shades, and designs. The end result is really pretty and fun. :)
