My polish choices for the Holidays: Love Thy Polish Royalty

Purple developped a stronghold in my stash - I just love to wear this color in fall and winter and of course it cannot be absent during the Holidays: my choice: Love Thy Polish Royalty - a deep yet vibrant purple loaded with magenta shimmer. Sadly, it doesn't spark up on the nails as much as in the bottle in my pictures - you have to take my word on it, that IRL it is a lot more sparkly, still it is quite an understated and elegant polish - in order to show the glitter better, I posted today X-large photos:

the above pictures are taken indoors in daylight, the below photo outside in the shade

I applied three coats of Love Thy Polish Royalty over Essence Hardening Nail Base. This being a jelly and the formula being on the thick side, you might guess, that there are easier polishes to apply out there. But still, I had no major issues and waiting a couple of minutes in between coat No 1 and 2 helped to prevent a gloppy mess. Dry time was due to the thickness of the consistency a bit slower but nothing dramatic. I had to wrap the tips of my nails to prevent polish shrinkage. Due to the amount of glitter, Royalty dries gritty but one coat of my regular Top Coat smoothed the surface and Royalty conveniently is no Top Coat eater - YAY!!! Depending on the light and around the edges, you can still see the sheerness of Royalty but I don't mind this with this kind of glitter jellies.

Final thoughts: I already wore Love Thy Polish for a full day and loved its changing color depending on the light. While not so much into your face still a subtle and unique beauty and certainly worth the careful application that it requires.

I ordered Love Thy Polish Royalty with Harlow & Co.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!

  1. Well first off, I think you should do x-large photos all the time! This is a stunner and I love being able to see that beautiful, free-floating finish in all its glory. It does look totally worth its application issues and I, too, appreciate the sheerness around the edges-- it adds a degree of depth. I keep scrolling back up to stare-- gorgeous polish and gorgeous photos, sis ♥♥

    1. Hi Liesl - thank you so much for your input - will do :-)! You said it so well, the sheerness in the end gives this polish the uniqueness, I believe Roayalty might have been easier to photograph in overcast weather - the sun these days has such a weird brightness yet is weak and falls in at such a weird angle... Oh well, I promised myself to show my polishes always what they look in "everyday environment" and this is what I currently get xxx

  3. That's so pretty! I love the slightly sheer jelly finish... it makes it look like the sparkling glitters are floating within the purple depth. :)
