Bondi Teal Magnolia

This week's theme is "La Crème de la creams". I have shown lots of glitters, shimmers and what have you in the recent weeks. And with spring finally having arrived in Switzerland, I felt it is time for bold and happy cream polishes.

Bondi is (according to my knowledge) one of the newest brand in the nailpolish world, having released a range of 20 perfect basic creams and some shimmers. Their polishes come 5 free and it is stated on their Website that all their net profits are going to their non-profitable foundation to support charitable causes throughout the US. After having seen the swatches of Bondi Uptown Girl with My Nail Polish Online I gave in and ordered two polishes:

The polishes came beautifully wrapped and with a sweet handwritten "Thank you" card signed by Kimberli. Left: Uptown Girl right: Teal Magnolia

I threw a dice which one to wear first and the winner was:

the above two pictures are taken indoors in daylight, the below photo outdoors in the shade

I applied three thin coats of Bondi Teal Magnolia over two different base coats (yes, I wanted to be able to compare). I used Essence XXL Nail Thickener and Zoya Anchor Base Coat. I can report that I did not observe ANY difference in application or wear between the two used Base Coats. The pictures are color accurate - Teal Magnolia is extremely saturated and vivid in any lightning.

Application itself is flawless, easy and perfect. The consistency of Bondi Teal Magnolia is creamy and maybe a tad on the thicker side. I intentionally did not buff my really quite ridged nails - hence the three coats were needed. I loved the use of the Bondi-brush. It is not too long or wide, the bristles are soft and it carries just the right amount of polish. The cap is slightly rubberized and has a size that is very convenient to hold.

Bondi Teal Magnolia dries down to a satin finish. Drying time is a bit longer than normal. While relatively quick dry to the touch it remains soft and dentable for a tad longer. I used Butter London Hardwear to achieve a high shine finish.

Wear: SUPERB!!! Below is a picture of my nails after 2 full days of wear. This includes regular dishwashing, typing all day at the office, hair rinsing, etc.

Removal: This baby can stain and my nails had a soft green cast after removal. But I always wash my hands thoroughly with soap after any polish removal and this erased any trace of stain easily.

Final thoughts: I am smitten!!!! I definitely need some more of their basic colors to complete my stash. While the color in the bottle did not look all that new and never seen before to me, the saturation and incredible look on the nail is awesome, not to mention the excellent wear.

I photographed those pansies on our company campus (no magnolias blooming here yet):

Of course I would like to know what you think of Teal Magnolia?

I ordered both Bondi polishes with their own website. Bondi ships internationally.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

  6. Got to love the personal touch! This is absolutely beautiful, on top of it, and looks amazing against your skintone, Christine :) Cremes are one of my three favorite finishes. There's just nothing classier than a smooth, glossy finish. I just love your photo of the pansies, too, such happy little flowers <3

    1. Hello - same for me :-)!!! LOL, happy you like it. I usually don't do wear tests (I hardly wear a polish for longer than 2 days) but this brand is so new and I have not found too many reviews about polish-details, so I thought the one or the other reader might appreciate - stay tuned for Uptown Girl ;-) - take care
