Autism Awareness Day: Fnug Trendsetter

Today is the official Autism World Awareness Day and going along with many members of the nailpolish world, I sport a blue mani to support the raise of awareness to Autism.

Here comes the perfect cornflower blue:

the above pictures are taken indoors in daylight, the below photo outdoors in the shade

Fnug Trendsetter applies in two easy coats. As with Fnug Surf Board the first coat applies a tad streaky when applied too thinly but the second coat fixes any issues. Trendsetter dries to a super high shine finish. Dry time is between fast and normal.

I compared Fnug Trendsetter with other cornflower blues I have in my stash and again no dupes here - except that thanks to this experiment I realized that China Glaze Fade Into Hue is a 99,99 % dupe of Essie Lapis of Luxury - the main difference between these two polishes is the formula. Fade Into Hue has a so much better and workable formula than the sheer and runny Lapis of Luxury. From left:

Pinkie: Essie Lapis of Luxury (four coats)
Ring: Colorama Horizonte Azul (two coats)
Middle: Fnug Trendsetter (two coats)
Index: China Glaze Fade Into Hue (two coats)

Final thoughts: ever since I applied the first brush stroke of a Fnug holo nailpolish sometime last year I am a true Fnugista and the cream polishes only enhanced my excitement about this brand. I cannot wait to expand my collection and I certainly will add another of their polishes here and there. While they do come pricey, their high quality and unique shades justify the higher price tag in my opinion.

Have you tried any Fnug creams yet?

I ordered Fnug Trendsetter with Llarowe.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

  1. That is a very pretty blue! I just picked up a new Essie that looks a lot like it. It's from the new collection and I can't remember the name of it. I was looking for dupes in my collection yesterday and couldn't find any...which is a good thing:)

    1. Hi Essie, oh I can't wait to see it over at your Blog - how is your nail b.t.w.? I saw the Essie polish over here too but let it there because of the Fnug. Hehe, great that we both went dupe-free with them :-) - as always thank you so much for your lovely comment xxx

  5. What a great cause and lovely shade! Honestly I think many people ignore what this trouble is about and the social consequences it has to the people who suffer from it and to their families. I hate when the word "Autist" is used as insult (specially in French I've heard it many times) people don't have a complete idea of what Autism means!
BTW Cornflower is definitely my favourite shade of blue. The FNUG one looks so pretty, I've never tried this brand though.
    Have a wonderful day!

    1. Hi Nati, thank you so much for your considerate and wonderful comment!!! In the case of using a condition as insult unfortunately plenty of languages use them - what about the classic "idiot"? It applies just as well and does not ridicule a serious condition!!!
Llarowe offers I think the whole Fnug Collection and since you intend to buy nailpolish more based on quality or uniqueness than quantity (so admirable) this might be a great addition to your collection ;-)!!! Bisous xxx
