My NOTDs of the week

I hope all of you my dear readers had a wonderful week!!! I most certainly did. I even did a quick trip to Paris but more of this later on.

While I am generally not into pinks I was swiped off my feet when I laid eyes on Hare Polish Atolla from their Illuminated Collection.

I applied three coats as thinnly as possible. Oh man, the formla is strange - sheer but rubberish. I waited several minutes in between coats to prevent polish dragging. I used Butter London Nail Foundation as Base Coat. Used a coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food (this baby dries gritty) and Butter London Hardwear Top Coat. You can still see a little bit of VNL on my middle finger. IRL it was also just visible. In case you don't like VNL I suggest to use a similar cream polish as base such as China Glaze Ahoy (the pink shimmer might add nicely to the overall effect) or Catrice Revel the Red.

Through this Blog I became friends with wonderful Nati from the Polished Polygot. On Monday I received wonderful nailmail from this sweetheart, among others my first ever Mavala polish - Blue Curaçao. I was instantly reminded of when I was in my twenties and drinking Champagne with Blue Curaçao was considered "dernier crie" (oh man, another expression that was so hip back then and is so oldfashioned today) ;-). The formula is amazing, so smooth and creamy, you see here two coats of Blue Curaçao over Butter London Nail Foundation and I used Essence Better Than Gel Nails fast dry Top Sealer, another gem I received from Nati!!! I am a convert now - this Top Coat is amazeballs.

For Valentines Day my amazing friend Priscilla and I have agreed to meet in Paris. These days we manage to get to Paris in just over three hours thanks to the direct TGV (French Highspeed Train)  connection between Basel and Paris. Upon arriving at Gare de Lyon and setting foot on Paris pavement I was ready to squeal "YAY, I AM IN PARIS"!!! Even the murky wet weather could not diminish any of my excitement!!! And this was what I saw upon exiting the railway station:

Of course we discussed what mani we would wear for this occasion and we agreed that it MUST contain Chanel Frenzy. Both of us are big fans of Marta from ChitChatNails and I absolutely wanted to wear a Skittlette. I am far less talented than Marta and ended rather with a Skittlettini - just two different nails and the other three equally painted ;-)

Pinkie: Chanel Suspicious (two coats), Ring: Opi Golden Eye (four coats), all others two coats of Chanel Frenzy stamped with Jade Maggia Negra. I unfortunately just have one photo of this mani as I cut my middle finger badly on paper and had to wear some band aid for the next two days - but I hope you still get the idea.

I still had Friday off, hence the occasion perfect for sporting another Skittlettini. Again Marta gave me the inspiration. Lately I was quite taken by textured finishes thanks to Opi's Liquid Sand. But there were some other textured finish polishes out there before. For example Butter London Gobsmacked:

Pinkie: A England Excalibur (two coats), Ring Wet n Wild I Red A Good Book (two coats) - Liesl, this polish is awesome, all others two coats of Butter London Gobsmacked.  For good measure and (finally) in reference to Valentines Day I used  heart shaped nailstickers for my ring fingers.

Anything among the above you are particularly fond of?

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine
