Now this is an unplanned post but I frankly am totally washed away by Opi Can't Let Go. I ordered the mini (rather macro) set of the four liquid sand glitters with Bath & Unwind since I could not decide which one to get and I was not sure I would like all of them. I was enjoying a lazy weekend at home with plenty of time to play with nailpolish and so it happened that I tried Can't Let Go:
I applied two coats of Opi Can't Let Go over Essence XXL Nail Thickener. I found the application easy and also the drying time not remarkably slow - I have some other, admittedly older polish, that take at least as much time as Can't Let Go.
To maintain the liquid sand optic you don't wear Top Coat with this polish. I recently received my bottle Glitter Food from Nail Pattern Boldness - I wanted to give it a try to protect the polish but also to maintain the "sandy" feel of the polish. I applied Glitter Food only on my ring finger and if you look closely you see, that the polish is a smidgen darker than on my other nails. Also the finish had sort of a "greasy" look. It lost the super textured quality that makes this polish such a total stand-out in my eyes. I only wore this for a day and Opi Can't Let Go did not had to undergo all of the usual wear tests such as typing, opening tons of mail for my boss, etc.
What I like best with Can't Let Go is its wearability - this is a glitter that I can easily wear to the office without getting big eyes and raised eyebrows. On top of that it looks good on nubs as well which is not a natural given with glitters I find.
Have you gotten any of the liquid sand polishes?
I ordered the Mariah Carey liquid sand mini set with Bath & Unwind .
I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine
Hi darling!
ReplyDeleteThis look gorgeous on you!
I haven't got any of the liquid sand polishes yet and I'm not sure I will... I'm not hooked of the idea of rough nails - yet! ;)
Maybe I'd like it if I tried ;)

Hi pet, thank youuuuu xxx!!! I can understand your doubts about gritty nails - however it is not at all your usual glitter grit but more like the surface of a nailfile - so really sandy. But I have read all over the place that it is not really wearing well, i.e. chipping - maybe you have an opportunity to try it somewhere? xxx
DeleteLooks cool! No, I don't have any YET. I am afraid I would end up putting a top coat on it. I'm not sure how much I would like the gritty texture. We shall see.
ReplyDeleteHi Essie, thank you :-)!!! Well it is not glitter-grit more like sand. Maybe there is a bottle for testing available at a local seller? I will soon wear one of them to work - hopefully I will be able to report some useful info about it by the end of the week. And they look lovely with Top Coat too I have seen!!!
DeleteOh, an office friendly glitter! Good to know! I used to love Mariah when I was younger (before her Butterfly days) and Can't Let Go was one of my favorite songs, lol. This is such a pretty purple and it's gorgeous on you, as well ♥
ReplyDeleteHi Liesl, thank you <3!!!!!!! Mariah is a stunner!!! Unfortunately I have not followed her career very closely but she is an incredibly gifted artist that I deeply respect for her talent and determination. xxx
DeleteIt looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ina xxx
DeleteGorgeous shade on ya !!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Vicky :-)!!!
DeleteI can't but agree with the girls: this shade looks stunning on you! It's really a particular finish... I haven't fallen for the liquid sand thing, and my wallet appreciates, ;)
ReplyDeleteI did notice the difference on your ring finger nail, and see what you mean about the "greasy" effect ( but I had to enlarge the picture to see) no one is looking THAT close!
xxx
Salut Nati!!! Thank you love xxx!!! Well the grease effect was rather visible depending on the light and the touch was WEIRD to say the least - yuk!!!! My wallet appreciated my effort to end up with one mini-set versus more than one full size bottle ;-) - take care - bisous
