Subtle Holiday manis: Karl says très chic and Opi Pirouette my Whistle

I bought Catrice Karl says très chic to mainly use it for skittlettes. But when I roamed my stash for some nudes and soft shades for my subtle Holiday mani week, I realized that I yet had to include a rose shade.

I applied two coats Catrice Karl says très chic over Essence XXL Nail Thickener. The polish is thin, does not level itself out and this combined with the wider brush of Catrice application is not the easiest. This is rare for a Catrice polish. I usually have no issues at all with its application.

I applied one coat of Opi Pirouette my Whistle and finished it with Ciate Speed Coat.

I think of all effect top coats to be shown this week the Opi Glitter is the most versatile. It looks equally good over dark or light colors, the formula is easy to work with - just the bigger hex glitters have to be coaxed out of the bottle now and then.

Maybe this is a touch to spring/summer like? I am not sure... Overall I think the sparkle adds nicely and gives the soft rose shade a delicate lift up. What do you think?

I bought Catrice Karl says très chic and Opi Pirouette my Whistle with local department stores.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!

Christine

  3. Karl says très chic looks perfect on you! And you're right, the OPI topcoat looks fantastic. Where do you get OPI polish in Switzerland? Do you have a Sephora in Basel?

    1. Hi Nati, thank you so much - phew, I am reliefed, rose and pink are outside my comfort zone so I am always a bit insecure when it comes to them ;-)!!! I get Opi with Douglas, we have a huge store here in Basel. But the prices are exorbitant - CHF 24.90 per bottle. Ugh. Lately I was ordering from Bath & Unwind, a UK e-tailer. Still not cheap but at least it does not beat the magical CHF 20.00 line. No we have no Sephora. I would need to drive to Strasbourg to find one :-S. Manor is my polish watering hole if I need an instant treat ;-)
