Subtle Holiday manis: Chanel Frenzy with Ellen Gold Crystal Opala

By now we have all seen our share of Christmas inspired reds, greens, golds and glitters. But there are also those among us who prefer to wear soft and neutral shades or work in an environment that calls for a more subtle take on festive manis. For all of us who are looking for inspiration on neutral though still festive manis I have 6 suggestions for you this week.

Of course I had to start out with my current favorite nude: Chanel Frenzy. Since I love this polish so much, I wanted it to remain prominent and simply added one coat Ellen Gold Crystal Opala over it, a 5D Holo Top Coat that I received from my wonderful sister in polish.

In daylight the sparkle looks silver:

And a blurred shot to show the beautiful holo sparkle:

I applied two coats of Chanel Frenzy over Essence XXL Nail Thickener. I finished this look with a generous coat of Ciate Speed Coat - the Ellen Gold Crystal Opala does dry gritty.

I understand that Ellen Gold Opala is not easily available in Switzerland but China Glaze Fairy Dust might be an excellent choice, also Essence has a nice range of various sized clear holo top coats available.

Would this mani be work dinner appropriate for you?

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

  1. I love it! It reminds me of one of my favorites, Butter London All Hail the Queen. The Chanel is lighter and a little more grey leaning. Beautiful duo, and it looks gorgeous on you. :)

    1. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Sigh yes it is expensive - I received it from a friend in exchange of writing an English letter for her. While most Swiss speak basic English they struggle with the written language. ;-). I think nudes are extremely difficult - after I received this I stopped looking for others ;-)
