This is straight out of the bottle
This is when the polish "gets cold":
Now the polish is half way warmed:
... and it can will turn pastel mint when it is "hot" - you can see it is a smidgen lighter than in the above picture:
I applied two coats of Pretty & Polished May Flower over Essence XXL Nail Thickener. I used Butter London Hardwear and Essence Better Than Gel Top Sealer Quick Dry (yes, I started to use the Essence Top Coat as second finish as of late).
The shade shifting happens very fast - I would say it takes less than 5 minutes to change from a deep vivid turquoise (think China Glaze Four Leaf Clover) to the minty pastel glitter shown above.
I had the polish rest upside down over night that the brush would be loaded with polish. It actually helped but the polish became a bit more difficult to apply. However the consistency is thin and easy to control. There are rather big flowers in the glitter suspended - you can see two of them camping out on my middle finger).
Final thoughts: I love Pretty & Polished May Flower and it certainly will not be my last from them - probably I will get myself another shade shifter ;-)
I ordered May Flower with Pretty & Polished. They ship internationally at reasonable fees.
Of course I would like to know what you think of this shade shifter!!!
I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine
How fun is this?! I really like how it looks cold :) Indie glitters that need no base color make me happy, too :) Have an amazing day, sis ♥
ReplyDeleteHi sis - I hope life is treating you well!!! Thank you so much, it really is fun and I caught myself checking the colors of my nails every other minute - LOL!!! You might like Contrary Polish, they do stuff outside the glitter-box, I still have some in my untrieds that I want to show since AGES!!! Have a wonderful day xxx
DeleteOh cool! I have never heard of this. That would be so fun! Great review:)
ReplyDeleteOh Essie, your comment floored me, I am beaming :-)!!!! Thank you so much xxx
DeleteHow cool is this! I like all the variations of the colors, and it's great to see such a strong shift! :-)

Hi sweetie - thank you :-)!!! Isn't it totally unique? Take care - love xxx
DeleteHi Christine, what a beautiful polish, I like the shifting, specially that it does not look like a gradient like many of the shifting polishes. I prefer the more intense colour, but the mint shade is equally gorgeous. What really kills me is the FLOWER SHAPED GLITTER! OMG. so very pretty!
ReplyDeletetake care, xx
Hi Nati, thank you love!!! I think the light version will look so much nicer once my hands get a slight tan!!! The flowers are too cute, I agree and I like that they're like a hidden treasure popping up only after the change of color :-)!!! Love & hugs, hope your little one is well!!!
DeleteHehehe!!! I was Googling swatches of this polish and suddenly realized, those look like Christine's nails!! ...I hover over the image... polishedmarvels.blogspot.com appears... YUP, they are!! :D This polish really has me intrigued. I've never tried a thermal/shade shifting polish, but this one might be my first. I love that it's a crelly with interesting glitters (the flower glitter from my Northern Star Polish has me hooked) and I think I would get the interesting "french tip" look since the free edge would remain cooler than my nail beds. :) You did a fantastic job of showing all the color shifts!!! I definitely love this on you, dear. :D I'll let you know if I decide to get it. ;) Have a wonderful week!!
