Girly Bits Crunchy Leaves

I wore this mani also this week, but was so in love with it that I decided it deserves its own post!

Automn is my favorite season of the year. I love the crisp air, the clear blue of the skies, even the foggy mornings that turn into gorgeous sunny days. And then there are these heaps and heaps of colored leaves on the ground that still invite me to jump on them despite my distinguished age - LOL!!!

This is a tree close by our home, could not resist posting a picture of its gloriousness:

When I saw Girly Bits Crunchy Leaves it directly jumped to my heart and my shopping basket, despite having seen only bottle shots up to then. It got a slightly tinted base filled to the gills with small glitter in orange and copper tones. Depending on the light some of them appear red. The name is so aptly chosen!!!!

I did not want to layer Crunchy Leaves over black or navy but over a matching color. I picked China Glaze Brownstone from their Metro Collection.

I started with 1-2 coats of China Glaze Brown Stone over China Glaze Ridge Filler Base Coat. I love the reddish brown, this will make a very sophisticated though edgy looking mani when worn on its own!! The formula was a tad weird though. It seemed as if the brush would hold lots of polish and one has to be careful to prevent flooding the nail or spilling the polish all over your table (yep both happened to me). I don't mind to deal with this given the excellent self leveling, shiny finish and quick drying time though.

And then I added only 1 (ONE) layer of Girly Bits Crunchy Leaves over Brownstone. But you might already guess, this is another Top Coat eater - I applied 2 thick coats of Butter London Hardwear Top Coat for the glossy finish.

I so much loved this combo and I observed people staring openly at my nails!!! Removal was a piece of cake using the foil method. However I never use polish removers containing acetone but the foil method works equally well with acetone free polish remover when left for approximatively 10 minutes on each nail. I barely had any glitter left on my nails!!

I order my China Glaze polishes through Head2Toe Beauty or Transdesign. Girly Bits Crunchy Leaves is available with Llarowe and Harlow & Co.
