Femme Fatale Burning Dusk

Hello Dears, I decided to each time when I feel that pull towards getting a new nailpolish, I would take a head dive into my untrieds and use one of THEM - now guess what, this happens every so often, especially at this time of the year when new collections start to pop up left and right. Todays cure for my itching to get new nailpolish is Femme Fatale Burning Dusk. Is it only me or am I simply reading the wrong Blogs - somehow it seems to me that the Femme Fatale holos have gotten a lot less stage time than many of the other brands. And while I am certainly one of the first to have to admit that I neglected them for any random other holo - I still find it a bit of a pity because if any of the others are like Burning Dusk they are gorgeous.

Femme Fatale Burning Dusk has a red toned purple base and throws a lilac soft blue shimmer. In the sun the shimmer is framed with a linear holo that is dominantly red (oh my GOSH!):

outdoors in the shade - this actually looks blurple, no?

I applied three super thin coats of Femme Fatale Burning Dusk over my regular Base Coat. The first coat would start getting a tad patchy if I went over the same area more than once and of course it was sheer. The second coat provided already opacity but to intensify the shimmer and the base I went for a third very thin coat and it was so worth it. It needs to be mentioned that Burning Dusk dries super quick and there was no need to wait in-between applying the coats. I finished my mani with Glisten&Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

Final thoughts: You know what I am reminded of when ogling Femme Fatale Burning Dusk? The color concept is reminiscent of the famous RBL Scangie. I find this a very intriguing and unique shade of polish that is totally unique in my collection (I wonder how often I have said this about a polish…. oh well, just mindless rambling here). And I particularly like that the spectacular colors of Burning Dusk are a bit understated and still totally center stage - I hope you know what I try to say here…

I ordered Femme Fatale Burning Dusk with Harlow & Co. They are also available with MeiMei Signatures.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!

  1. This is BEAUTIFUL. And one of the most fun things about discovering a new holo is learning the primary color of the flash... purple and red... I echo your sentiments-- Oh my GOSH!! ♥♥♥ And to discover this within your own stash, no less... :) I can think of five untrieds off the top of my head and none of them look like this, lol :) I would LOVE to, some day, just go hog wild and totally haul a bunch of indies. I'll see how far my Christmas money stretches, maybe (lol, making plans for money I don't have and won't have for another four and a half months) :)

    1. Hi Liesl - oh what a gorgeous thought, to take a jump dive into indies and go bonkers ordering.... Well it is what it is and somehow I don't mind carefully choosing the polishes I order. And still I somehow sit on that heap of untrieds... Thank you - it is such an amazing polish indeed and I am so relieved that it is truly unique as well with that base color and that color spectrum in the holo and what have you... Have a lovely day xxx

  3. I'm still rubbing my eyes! is this colour for real? oh-my-gosh!!! (you're right those're exactly the first -and only- words that come to my mind!) I have never seen anything like it, I totally see why you say it ressambles Scrangie RBL but with red linear holo... what was this doing among your untrieds! you naughty girl!, haha.
It is difficult to resist buying new polish right now, I hear you, I have placed three orders in the past two weeks! that's not good! I have over 100 untrieds!! can you believe that? I think we need to have a kind of "untried Thursday" challenge or something!
Have a nice evening ma biche, xxx

    1. Awww thank you ma belle!!! Haha, I just imagine you rubbing eyes. Well, I was about the same and I agree, I certainly deserve a slap on my wrist for letting this sit among my untrieds for that long. Of course I easily believe you that you got more than 100 untrieds - me too and a lot more at that, so after having placed about three orders myself over the past weeks I have to get back to no-buy. Next goal - no orders until 26 September with the exception of A Box Indied to which I subscribed - let's see what's worth it... have a lovely weekend despite the unspeakable weather here xxx

    1. Thank you so much love xxx!! Isn't that funny to be lost for words over nailpolish? When I typed up this post I was about to write about the color, stared at my nails and turned dumbfaced and my brain went blank - hilarious!!!!
