Picture Polish Shy Violet

Last week I saw some Picture Polish Give-away popping up on Instagram showing some new Collaboration shades, a couple of days later they were available with Pshiiit Boutique, and now, another couple of days later, I am all giddy awaiting my Picture Polish Pshiiit order - in short, I gather it is about time to the remaining untried polish from Picture Polish last Collaboration Shades, Shy Violet which was created by Glam Polish.

Shy Violet is a sheer purple base loaded with Picture Polish‘s signature scattered holo throughout.

I applied four (yes, 4) very thin coats of Shy Violet over Essence Hardening Nail Base. To be perfectly honest with you, three coats would have been sufficient, if I would have been more careful when applying my second coat which ended up sometimes thin, sometimes medium, definitely not appropriate with a sheer jelly like Shy Violet. However, the formula is jelly-perfection and applies wonderfully - all the issues were self-implied!! Dry time is on the fast side and once dry, it leaves the nails with a nice soft shine. All pictures are taken without Top Coat.

Final thoughts: I confess, I am a huge Picture Polish fan, and Shy Violet exites me as much as any of their other shades. I find Shy Violet very wearable and this purple extremely versatile for work or a nice dinner out.

I order my Picture Polish shades either with Llarowe, Harlow & Co or Pshiiit Boutique.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for dropping by!!!

  1. This is gorgeous! You show off a lot of awesome Picture Polish shades, sis, but this one just might be my favorite (and I love the tagline of this one, lol). Four coats is a lot but it's certainly not unprecedented and if the dry time's good, there's no worry (because application skills can be lacking in one way or another, depending on :) ). Also, is it purple week around here and I missed the memo?

    1. Thank you Liesl <3! Yes, I am doing purple week ;-)! I said something in my post on Monday but lacked imagination to come up with a sweet and short slogan for the titles of this week :-S. I really like that PP always has a tag line on their bottle, they are fun. I am glad to hear we all experience such painting hazzles once in a while, there are polishes that are more forgiving than jellies though right? Have a wonderful day <3

  2. This is a lovely shade of purple, and of course, the scattered holo is just a bonus. Picture Polish is yet another brand I have yet to try...but you make me want to SO much! <3

    1. So for you I have a week of neutrals, right? I agree with you, also for me purple is a very neutral shade - after red that is. PP come a tad expensive conpared to what you are able to find (your skills have me awed) but their uniqueness and excellent quality, especially with their jellies justify a splurge in my humble opinion ;-) xxx
