Skittelette with Barry M Duchess

Last month was my Birthday and my awesome friend Jezz from Little Miss Nailpolish has sent me the most wonderful Birthday-surprise-nailmail! Next to some ITF (impossible to find) Swedish nail polishes she included THE WHOLE Barry M Textured Polishes Collection - I was literally FLOORED!!! Thank you sweetie for spoiling me rotten!!!

I was racking my brain how to show those beauties in appropriate company, well what about some Skittelettes? Let's start those series with Barry M Duchess a vieux rose base filled with silver glimmer and bigger glitter pieces. For this simple Skittelette I used Cult Nails Princess, a pale slightly greyed blue with soft pink shimmer:

Recipe:
Pinkie and middle: three coats of Barry M Duchess
Ring and index: three thin coats of Cult Nails Princess

Duchess is rather sheer and builds nicely in three coats. If you don't mind VNL or wear your nails short you might also like Duchess at two coats. I used three coats though to achieve maximal bling! The application is wonderful, just like a cream and dry time is what you have to become to expect of a textured polish - relatively quick dry to the touch but sensitive to dents for about thirty minutes.

And here some more photos of Barry M Duchess on its own:

Final thoughts: Barry M Duchess is while blingy and sparkly still totally office appropriate - I tried ;-)! While the glitter adds sparks in any light, the soft rose base looks neutral and delicate in any light.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!

  3. Wow, I totally love Duchess! It's so blinging, but the neutral pink makes it not too crazy, you know? It reminds me a lot of OPI's Make Him Mine, though the finishes on the two are a little different. :)
