Lacquer Lust Emerald

Harlow & Co launched Lacquer Lust a week ago and normally I would not jump onto plain holos at this time of the year, knowing that the dark and sometimes murky days in November just do not provide the necessary limelight for holo beauties but I could not resist trying my luck to snatch some. Emerald was released in Lacquer Lust's Birthstone Holo line and represents May. It is the perfect emerald green holo. Annoyingly the weather was ghastly when I sported Emerald on my nails. Therefore all pictures but one are taken indoors either in daylight or in artificial light.

in artificial light:

and outdoors in the rain :-S - isn't it amazing that the holo is still visible?

I applied two coats of Lacquer Lust Emerald over Essence Hardening Nail Base. This was my first ever Lacquer Lust polish experience and I am VERY pleased. The formula is flawless and applies like a cream. The first coat possibly could look a bit patchy, as with most holos and I would not recommend going over the same area twice. But Emerald dries fast and you finish painting your nails within a breeze.

Side note: I always let my Base Coat dry thoroughly for a couple of minutes. It makes a world of a difference to let it alone even if it appears dry to the touch nearly instantly. I experience a lot less patchiness, streaks and polish dragging.

Final thoughts: I have seen pictures of various polishes of the Birthstone Holo Line and loved the bolder, saturated colors. At CAD$ 16.00 it certainly goes down as more expensive polish in my books but I will ever so often make an exception and splurge on those beauties.

I ordered Lacquer Lust Emerald with Harlow & Co.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!

  1. Birthstone holos, that's so cool! I'd definitely pay that for mine. This one's gorgeous, you've been trotting out the most awesome greens. This reminds me of Nubar Reclaim and totally makes me wish for the summer sun again, lol :) Great photos, sis :)

  2. Hey, just realized April's favorite color is green and this is also her birthstone. My favorite color is purple and that is my birthstone. I wonder if that happens a lot!? This is beautiful!

    1. Your comment made me think - who knows - my birthstone would be Opal and I have no single favorite color but blue, green, red, purple.... I do detect a pattern here :-D! And thank you <3

  3. My birthstone is garnet, but my favorite color isn't garnet LOL. :P But you know what...I bet it makes one outstanding holo polish!! This one is a very nice, dusty-earthy green. <3
