Comparison week: Contrary Polish The Boulevard vs RBL Piu Mosso

This is the second comparison request from Liesl. Thank you friend for the suggestion - I really enjoy doing comparisons by the way. So if you want to see any more, just drop me a line in the comments section. But back to polish-business.

Pinkie and middle: RBL Piu Mosso, two coats
Ring and index: Contrary Polish The Boulevard, three coats
I used on all nails Essence Hardening Nail Base and Cult Nails Wicked Fast as Top Coat.

Now while these two are certainly related idea-wise there are aplenty of differences, I therefore list the particularities of each separately:

Contrary Polish The Boulevard
  • prussian blue base color
  • sheer jelly
  • copper shimmer
  • cost: USD 11.00 (full sized bottle)

RBL Piu Mosso
  • deep dark pure navy base color
  • cream formula to perfection
  • copper shine
  • cost USD: 20.00

Verdict: Piu Mosso created quite a hype when it was released back in 2011 and I have been waiting patiently if it would come back to snatch it for my collection. However, I prefer The Boulevard over Piu Mosso for the prussian blue base and the clearly more visible shimmer.

I received Contrary Polish The Boulevard as gift from the lovely Carrie from Contrary Polish. It can be ordered though with Llarowe in full size bottles. And following Carrie's Blog you will learn of availabilities of mini-bottles to be ordered directly from her. I ordered RBL Piu Mosso from their own website here.

Now here the question comes again - which one would you prefer?

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for passing by!!!
Christine

  1. Awesome comparison, sis! Thank you so much for taking the time to do it. I adore the stronger copper shimmer in The Boulevard but the opaque murkiness of Piu Mosso is part of what sold me in the first place. Hard to choose a favorite heRE!

    1. Hi hon, I could not agree more. The Boulevard certainly has a but more omph about it while Piu Mosso is understated class in my eyes :-)

    1. Hi Ina - thank you so much, these days I am also more inclined to reach for the Boulevard but it seems I anyhow am heavily into shimmer stuff for this Season ;-) <3

    1. Hi Melissa, thank you so much - and I agree, these two are despite the ressemblance in the pictures quite different! And I agree on the price - RBL is plain expensive and given the amount of polish I would like to buy, I find it hard to justify the splurge xxx
