Comparison week: Lacquer Lust Emerald vs Nubar Reclaim

This is the first of two comparisons asked for by my lovely Blogger friend Liesl from Liesl Loves Pretty Things. First up a comparison between Lacquer Lust Emerald that I showed last week (original post) and the most famous Nubar Reclaim. And to admit it right away, I forgot to take a picture of the bottles next to each other :-(.



Pinkie and middle: Nubar  Reclaim
Ring and index: Lacquer Lust Emerald
Two coats of each over Essence Hardening Nail Base, no Top Coat. I had no issues with application. Dry time normal.


Differences:
Color: the pictures speak for themselves. Next to Reclaim, Emerald looks a lot more grey than on its own.
Formula: Emerald has a fantastic formula applying like any cream polish. Reclaim is thinner and not as pigmented. Both were behaving well during application despite me using my normal Base Coat.
Costs: Lacquer Lust Emerald CAD 16.00, Nubar Reclaim CAD 9.00


Verdict: Now these two are certainly different enough to justify owning both. Not to mention that Nubar Reclaim is a milestone in nailpolish history. Still, I was surprised just how different the two of them looked next to each other.

I ordered both, Lacquer Lust Emerald and Nubar Reclaim (not available now) with Harlow & Co.

    Both are really gorgeous on you, but I'm surprised they are quite different side-by-side. Reclaim totally stands out to me. It's such an interesting shade of green, so vibrant. Love it! :D

      Hi Yun - hahaha the Oldie clearly seems the winner out of these two! I never expected them to be so different either but then maybe I just got misled by the name ;-)

    Thank you for the shout out, sis ♥♥ I can't choose here, either... I adore the vibrancy of Reclaim but Emerald does look more holo-y. Like I said on IG, I need both :) Thanks for justifying it, lol :D

      It is upon me to thank you for the inspiration!!! And I am so glad to own both, yes - Emerald is more holo - AND despite me liking Reclaim lots - suits my skin tone a lot better :-) <3!!!!

      Thank you friend xxx!!! You know there is this one spot outside my building next to the parking spaces that gets hit by the sun in just about the right angle - now I hope for some sunny winter days to not have to store away my holo-lovies till March ;-)!
