And for those who care to know I copied the "translation" of Giddy Kipper from Butter London's own website: "Giddy Kipper refers to someone who is every exited… like anyone who buys this lacquer will be!"
the above two pictures are taken indoors in daylight, the below photo outside in the shade
You see two coats of Giddy Kipper over Essence XXL Nail Thickener. Pigmentation was not super strong in the first coat and I found the formula on the thin side. But still, application was the usual Butter London pleasure and the second coat provided an insane saturated opacity. The shimmer certainly is more visible in the bottle and only very soft on the nail but I see it as enhancer of the glow of the blurple base color. Once more Giddy Kipper and I had some hard time to get pictures and the second picture is really accurate and as it shows IRL most of the time. Maybe due to the shimmer though and depending on the light the polish will look more blue as shown in my first picture.
Final thoughts: What an outstanding color and totally unique in my stash and I realize that I came to say this less and less. Once more Butter London outranks the big brands out there with totally unexpected colors for fall and going determinedly their own way. At this point I dare to forecast a huge hype for blurple over the next seasons having seen them popping up more frequently in the recent collections.
I ordered Butter London Giddy Kipper with Pshiiit Boutique.
I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!

Ooooh, I have never seen this one before and now I want it!!! Going straight on my wish list :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you dear Essie xxx!!! I honestly am a bit surprised to have seen so little of BL's new collection in general - I find it so special and unique!!! And Giddy Kipper is a very wearable shade I find, suiting many skin tones and appropriate for so many occasions - you certainly will rock this shade ;-) xxx
DeleteI love the colour! It's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Emma :-)
DeleteI have this and LOVE the color but I had some dragging issues. Not enough to prevent me from using it again but your post makes me wonder if I got a wonky bottle (or if I just have a wonky polishing technique :) ). Either way, your swatches are lovely and make me want to give it another go!
ReplyDeleteHi Becca, awesome that you got it as well!!! And thank you for your lovely comment. Hands down - it is not what we became used of by BL - I maybe was just lucky to get it this time down on my nails easily. I always use a particular Base Coat from Essence (sadly taken from their range of products for now) which makes a lot of more challenging formulas rathr easy to apply..
DeleteIf anybody could make a worldwide trend out of blurple, it would be YOU! They all look so enticing on you...enticing me to buy them all, that is... :)
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa - hahaha let's see if these will be mere wishful thinking from my part!!! I find this one of the most enticing (stealing your word here) colors out there fitting just so many skin tones despite one could think it to be such a particular shade :-) and I definitely can see this (or any blurple at that) on your nails :-)
DeleteI should've known this one... I've been so excited to see swatches of it so thank you for delivering in a big and fantastic way ♥♥♥ This would make such a cool saran wrap mani with Wellies... I NEEEED, lol ♥♥
ReplyDeleteHehe, no real surprise, I know!!! I have no clue why we haven't seen more of it (or of any of that collection) as I find it the best collection out there!!! My local polish watering hole carried now BL - just on my way home of ogling the rack!!! They carry about a third to half of BL's colors and I am so good - I didn't buy any ;-P
DeleteWhat a lovely nuance of blue! :D
ReplyDeleteHi sweetheart - thank you so much <3
