Contrary Polish Indigo Rose

I nearly feel regret to already have come to the third and last of the three Color Context polishes by Contrary Polish - please meet Indigo Rose:

The above two pictures are taken indoors in daylight, the below picture (yep for once my left hand) outdoors in the sun

I applied three coats of Indigo Rose over Zoya Anchor Base Coat. Once more tip wrapping would be appropriate to prevent a visible tip line. I finished the mani with A England The Shield Top Coat. And yes, I went once more for three coats. In my opinion it really deepens the polish and intensifies the shimmer.

Looking at Indigo Rose on my nails I was reminded marginally of Chanel Vendetta. I think the pictures below show all the difference there is. Indigo Rose is more blue leaning and he shimmer is way more noticeable and creates the intended color shift. Indigo Rose never looks close to black as opposed to Vendetta which most of the time, i.e. if not in the full sun, looks like a blackened purple.

Final thoughts: I googled the term "Indigo" and scrolled through pages and pages of pictures - some more blue leaning, others rather purplish - it seems the world is quite disunited when it comes to put Indigo into a picture. With Indigo Rose Carrie, the creator behind Contrary Polish, has mastered the challenge of a true Indigo colored polish in my opinion. A deep blue with enough red (winky-wink to the shimmer) in it to make it look purple with remaining blue around the edges. If you prefer a more blueish look I would suggest to go with two coats of Indigo Rose.

I ordered Contrary Polish with Llarowe.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

    3. LOL :-D, admittedly it wasn't the first time - I once even went to the bakery with four fingers painted with one polish and "test wear" on my other hand. The sales lady thought it was intentional - who am I to ruin such a lovely comment??? ;-P
