Spring 2013 Must Haves: Chanel Fracas

Yes, I did it again, I splurged on another highend priced polish. Chanel Fracas was just too beautiful to give it a pass ;-)!! And then it was payday so I sort of wiggled myself through all those excuses to give myself another treat ;-)

the pictures above and below are taken indoors in daylight

Isn't Fracas beautiful? The first pictures showed what Fracas looks in most lights. Application is so-so. I found the first coat prone to streaking and Fracas is not completely selflevelling. The consistency is creamy and dense. The second carefully applied coat evened out the patchiness. I don't wanna give a final judgement yet though, I will have to try it with different base coats to find out if the performance will differ. I used Essence XXL Nail Thickener as base coat and no Top Coat, it truly dries to this high shine :-)

these two photos are taken outdoors, the above in the shade, the below in the sun

Final thoughts: I am in love with this color - I would categorize it as coral leaning pink. After the first application I am a bit disappointed by the formula. I would expect such expensive polishes to apply smooth and effortless. But I will stall my final judgement for now until I wear it again using a different Base Coat.

Of course I would like to know what you think of Fracas :-)?

I bought Fracas with Globus.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

  1. The only Chanel I have is Peridot and I was pleased with the formula. This one is really pretty! Like I said yesterday, you have great taste in nail polish;)

  2. BEAUTIFUL! I obviously drool when I saw it but remain calm and walked away like if I was above all those pretty colours. In fact I'm trying hard to respect my no-buy brake. I did paint one nail at Manor, just for the fun... and once at home, I realized I have a VERY similar shade, that's only lacking the "secret shimmer". so I felt a little better, LOL!
Thanks for sharing with us Christine! xx

    1. Salut Nati, I bow my head to your discipline with your no-buy!!! I agree, the shimmer is not worth mentioning, I started to wonder if the companies add it for another purpose like increase the depth of the color itself rather than popping into our eyes??? However, I prefer those shades happy and clean creams, so this is right up my alley - LOL. Take care my dear xxx

    1. Thank you Vicky!!! Maybe you can try it someplace? I am not really into pink polish either but there is something about this polish - probably its promise of upcoming happy sunny days that made me longing for it ;-).

    1. Yay sis - thank youuuuuu!!!!!! LOL - now that would be a total inside hit, what a wonderful idea :-). And again, we seem to be tuned to have a knack for classic fragrances - there was a time when I was obsessed with scents pre 1950 - I found them so intricate and complex!!!
