Spring 2013 Mush Haves: Opi Get Your Number

In my eyes the textured finish polishes are a real new invention for this spring. There are textured polishes sprouting left and right at the moment and while it might not be everybody's cup of tea, for me it certainly is a must have :-) Representing those textured polishes I show you today Opi Get Your Number Liquid Sand from the Mariah Carey Collection. This post is picture heavy, you will see why ;-)

I have seen plenty of posts on Opi Get Your Number, as of all other Liquid Sand polishes. Some Bloggers showed it at two coats, others at three. I thought I do both ;-) The left picture shows Opi Get Your Number at two coats, the right picture at three coats. I used Essence XXL Nail Thickener as Base Coat for both versions. Sorry for the blurriness of the left picture but I had to choose this photo to show the polish in the same light :-S

And the above two pictures show again two coats of Opi Get Your Number in the left picture and three coats in the right pictures. I took the photos outdoors, here the difference is more evident.

There were also suggestions to wear Get Your Number over a blue base color. Well, of course I oblige to this sort of advice, let's see what it resulted in:

I choose China Glaze Man Hunt from the Safari Collection as I found the bottle base colors resembling. The picture below is pretty self explanatory.

Pinkie and middle: three coats of Opi Get Your Number
Ring and index: one coat of China Glaze Man Hunt, two coats of Opi Get Your Number, one coat of Essie Matte About You.

And just one last picture showing close-ups of all versions right next to each other:

From left: two coats, three coats, two coats Opi Get Your Number over one coat of China Glaze Man Hunt

I had to mattify the ring and index finger - the shiny finish of China Glaze Man Hunt was too strongly glinting through Opi Get Your Number.

Other base colors that could work: Opi Dating a Royal,  Orly Blue Suede, Illamasqua Force. However, I prefer Opi Get Your Number at three coats on its own.

Which version do you prefer?

I bought Opi Get Your Number at Douglas.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!

    1. Hi Pet, thank you for your compliment!!! I am glad you found it helpful! I wanted to add that once the polish is longer on the nails than one hour it dries completely matte and loses this greasy shine (which I honestly don't find too appealing). Have a wonderful evening too - or what is left of it. Your parcel will hopefully leave tomorrow xxx
