My Indie Brands of the moment: Contrary Polish Santorini

Sometime last summer I first laid eyes on Contrary Polish and was smitten. Ever since I have been patiently collecting and adding Contrary Polishes to my stash. Sadly I missed the launch AND the re-stock of Contrary Polish Love Lyrics Spring 2013 Collection and now wait for the one remaining available polish to arrive at my doorstep. However Contrary Polish released a wonderful Collection in 2012 named The Island Collection of which I gladly got a couple of bottles and since Santorini is one of the most beautiful sunny and wonderful places in Greece, I found it apt to have its namesake polish presented here - this is Contrary Polish Santorini:

see the fine green shimmer on my middle and ring finger?

the above two pictures are taken indoors in daylight, the below two also indoors but in artificial light

I need to get a something to tie me to my chair before going off on that awesome formula, else I am gonna go through the roof over this!!! I applied two perfectly smooth coats of Contrary Polish Santorini over Essence XXL Nail Thickener. On the last picture you see Santorini worn with Butter London Hardwear Top Coat. The polish is A.W.E.S.O.M.E. to apply, it dries quick to a satin finish as seen in the first couple of pictures. Luckily I snapped some pictures before applying the Top Coat because this mani ended so shiny, there was hardly anything to be seen despite the shine - hahaha!!! Santorini has tiny green micro shimmer particles that really show well IRL despite being camera shy here!!!

Final thoughts: So far I have been just delighted with any of Contrary Polishes I have tried. They all have a little something extra that makes them stand apart from any of the other Indie Brands out there. And I appreciate them not doing glitters or holos but creams!!! For reference here are links to my posts on Contrary Polish Frozen or Contrary Polish Desert Fruit or Contrary Polish Bright Night.

What do you think of Indie Brands doing creams?

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!

  1. I love when indies do creams. I think it's great when there is a company that does both because everyone has their likes/dislikes with nail polish. You cover all bases then:) Love this blue!

    1. Hi Essie, thank you :-)!!! I agree, it is such a win to have the wide variety of Indies out there - there really is something for everyone and I love to buy Indie brands as it supports dedicated and small sized enterprises that try to come up with new ideas in an environment friendly manner.
