While waiting for the RBL BIB4 Aqua Lily release I was hunting my local polish grounds for similar shades. Of course I knew finding a dupe would simply be impossible - but I hoped for at least cousins in color ;-)! So this is how Catrice No Snow Petrol found its way to my polish-crib.
Catrice No Snow Petrol is a far shot and not even remotely related to Aqua Lily. This does not mean that it is not a beautiful color:
This was a typical Catrice application: short stiff brush with loads of polish on it. But the application was fairly easy and the polish has a nice selflevelling quality. As usual the drying time was incredibly fast.
Final thoughts: I am surprised how well No Snow Petrol goes with my skin tone. My stash of quick drying polishes is rather important to me since I far too often have no time for a time consuming mani.
My question for today: did you also invest some leg work to try to find a sibling of a lemming and if so, for which one?
I buy my Catrice with our local Manor store.
I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine
Oh Christine, this is such a pretty shade and it looks great on you! I agree is not similar at all to Aqua Lily. And what you said is the only leg wor I've done in months! LOL Just missed Chanel Malice and had been since then looking for a "dupe" with no luck.
ReplyDeletetake care!

Salut chérie, thank you so much for your sweet comment <3!!! I imagine your experience with Malice must be alike mine with Aqua Lily ;-)!!! There seem to be polishes out there that just are too complex to copy ;-)!!! Who knows you might get lucky and Chanel brings Malice back like RBL did Aqua Lily - I keep my fingers crossed for you xxx
DeleteHi pet!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really pretty shade and it looks great on you!!
I had to google Aqua Lily to see what you were talking about and OMG what a stunning polish!!! The shimmer on that one is amazing!! And the base colour is great too! Do you own this beauty now???? xxx
Hi sweetie - thank youuuuu xxx!!! Yup, got Aqua Lily during RBL' Bring It Back in short BIB session this automn. I am a Rebel (RBL fans are called that) and hoarding their beauties. I just need to get over my anxiousness to use them ;-)!!! Hope you had a lovely day xxx
DeleteGorgeous gorgeous shade and it does look great on ya :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Vicky xxx!!! :-)
DeleteI was deciding between this and Blue Cara Ciao, which lovely to wear first and I went with BCC... but this is smokin' gorgeous and I can't wait to see it on my nails! It looks amazing on you, doll :) You know I love my Peridot dupes ;) I'm perfectly satisfied not owning the original, though I certainly wouldn't mind. My #1 biggest lemming is Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Turquoise Opal and there is an Ozotic dupe for it, but I've got to have the Prism. So, no finding a sibling here, I'm just patiently stalking the original.:D
ReplyDeleteNow how funny is this, when assembling the polishes for this weeks' posts I was torn between No Snow Petrol and Blue Cara Ciao - we really share a taste - LOL!!!! And thank you xxx :-)!!!! Oh you must refer to Ozotic 506 - it is on sale with Harlow & Co wink-wink ;-). But maybe Catrice feels like getting more into duo-chromes and will come up with a dupe???? The arrival of your second box really saved my sanity yesterday as I had such an incredible horrible endless day at work and came home in pieces. Those gems will therefore always hold a special place in my heart xxx
DeleteOh wow, Aqua Lily looks fantastic but so does this one! Right now I really want to find Hare Pegasus, but it's out of stock wherever I look :D
ReplyDeleteHi Ina, Thank you!!! I originally was deceived by the lights in the shop, there the Catrice looked a lot more turqoise. Imagine my eyes when I saw it IRL - LOL!!! Oh and I believe Llarowe plans a Hare restock sometime within the next 6 weeks ;-)
