Catrice Back to Black - or sparked up charcoal

I assembled astonishingly many charcoals with shimmer by now so when my friend at work handed me down her Catrice Back to Black I knew it would love its new crib finding so many siblings waiting for it ;-)

I came to really like Catrice as of late. I overheard some remarks that they are not long-lasting but this hardly counts for me since I change my mani up to three times per week and mine looked good after day two.

This is two coats of Catrice Back to Black, I used China Glaze Ridge Filler as Base Coat.  I just love the nearly black look of it. Its just a wee off being a true black. I was totally astonished that so little of the steely shimmer translated to the nail. It seems to prefer hangin' on to the bottle. However, that little shimmer that could bring itself to leave its crib added a very subtle shine to the nails that I really like.

And now let me introduce you to Catrice Back to Black's siblings. From left: Orly Butter Fly, Orly Sea Gurl, Catrice Back to Black, Perola Paris Torre Eiffel

Gladly they look on the nail as different as in the bottle:

Pinkie Perola Paris Torre Eiffel, Ring Catrice Back to Black, Middle Orly Sea Gurl, Index Orly Iron Butterfly. I applied 2 coats of each over China Glaze Ridge Filler.  Actually I am pretty happy how complementary my selection proved to be - no dupes here!!!!

Do you also have a collection of charcoals? What are you experiences with Catrice?

Looking forward to reading your comments!!!

Thanks for reading!!

  1. I like dark polishes! (well, except those who stain :P ) Never saw this one! I think you can tell that I like Catrice, if you read my blog. I have a rare luck polishes never chip on me. How strange is that? I get tip wear, but I can't remember when was the last time I got a chip! So Catrice endures as long as any other on me.
