Colors by Llarowe Moonshine

Today I have another beautiful little number from Leah Ann, the creative mind behind Colors by Llarowe. Moonshine is a plummy-yummie jelly filled with silver micro glitter that glows from silver to a deep magenta through the syrupy layers of the jelly base.

the above pictures are taken indoors in daylight, the below photo outside in the shade

 in artificial light:

I applied three coats of Colors by Llarowe Moonshine over Essence Hardening Nail Base. The formula of Moonshine has a certain thickness. On the bright side this reads: easy controllable application and no cuticle flooding. On the other side, Moonshine has a tendency to act gluey and drag when you go over the same area twice. The first coat goes on streaky but the second and third coat provided the level of opacity I was aiming for: even though still enough see-through to allow the glitter to shimmer and sparkle in all those various shades from silver to deep magenta. Since I was with nubs for this, I cannot report about any sightings of a VNL (visible nail line).

Final thoughts: Colors by Llarowe is such a classic yet unique and particular polish. It is versatile, festive, sparkly though understated enough to walk all the miles from work to an evening out. Not to mention the wear time - I had it for more than two days on my nails and no tip wear or chips near or far.

I ordered Colors by Llarowe Moonshine with well, Llarowe - usually those gems are sold out within days if not hours if not minutes but enlisting for Llarowe's newsletter will let you know when restocks and launches will take place.

To all of you I wish a wonderful Christmas Eve (that's when we celebrate Christmas here in Switzerland). I will get geared up for my dinner out now - I will spend the evening with many of my closest friends - all of us seated at one long table feasting on an outstanding gourmet menu…..

With love to all of you - Christine

    1. Oh Essie, I am lucky to have met you too!!! You made a real difference to my year - I cannot thank you enough! And oh yes, I felt quite posh with this number on my nails and nearly neglected some of the food over ogling my nails - happens only to nail polish addicts I bet ;-)

    1. Hi fellow CbL-fan :-D - thank you, and well, you surely have some bottles that are missing in my collection. I bet between the two of us we pretty much cover all polishes released - no?

  4. Lovely! It reminds me a little of Zoya Peyton, which is heavier on the holo spakles but has that same deep jelly awesomeness. Gourmet dinner with friends... the only way I could improve on that scenario is to include dancing ;)

    1. Thank you sis - of COURSE Zoya Peyton is exactly living in the same alley!!! But while Peyton sparkles holo this baby is all silver glitter. About the Gourmet dinner - we were so full after eating, we would have moved like carrying a heap of stones if we would have been forced to go up to a dance floor. The meal stretched for four hours and left us sprawled in our chairs helplessly - LOL (hence the preference for water and bread if the evening includes dancing ;-P)
