Cadillacquer Better Call Saul

Wouldn't you agree that it is about time that I, as Swiss Blogger devote a week's theme to a Swiss Indie Brand? Cadillacquer is "born and bread" Swiss and as of late has roamed all the major blogs as well as being available with those big famous international e-tailers Llarowe and Harlow & Co. Now I have to admit, I enjoy shopping her Bigcartel site - no qualms about quantities that bring a bling and a twinkle into our customs clerk's eyes and horrendous VAT rates to my home.

Cadillacquer has released a new collection themed after the TV series "Breaking Bad" consisting of 12 new shades. I got myself six of them - just perfect to fill a week of posts, right ;-)? I start the week with Better Call Saul - a blue based polish filled with turquoise shimmer and soft, scattered holo particles that has definitely some periwinkle shine around the edges.

The pictures above are taken indoors in daylight, the photos below outside

I applied two coats of Better Call Saul over Essence Hardening Nail Base. The formula is really easy to work with, whether thin nor thick it flows nicely onto the nails. I would recommend though to not go over the same area twice since you might end up with bald spots. I could immediately start round two after having painted the first coat and achieved the most wonderful opacity. Dry time is fairly quick.

Cadillacquer Better Call Saul reminded me of an all-time favorite of mine: RBL Cuprum (from that forever famous Fan 2.0 collection released in spring 2012). On the picture below I applied two coats of RBL Cuprum on my ring finger, all others Cadillacquer Better Call Saul. In this picture you clearly see the soft periwinkle shine that I mentioned above. While the base colors belong into the same family Better Call Saul is not as vivid and while Cuprum has that pink shimmer, Better Call Saul has smaller turquoise shimmer AND that soft scattered holo that gives it a velvety shine.

Final thoughts: this is such a time- and seasonless blue - I love its saturation and glow!!! I am particularly smitten about Better Call Saul as this is such a shade shifter. The weather was cloudy with some sun in-between and I took the pictures through some of the changing lights. And it looked IRL as different as in my photos!!!

I ordered Better Call Saul with Cadillacquer's Bigcartel shop here.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

    1. Oh blushing over here - thank you so much <3!!!!! I am so glad that no more holo was added - I am afraid that velvet effect would get lost if there is more holo.... Hope you have a great day xxx

  3. Blue... love... ;-)

I haven't ordered any of the new ones yet, I'm trying to restrain myself, until I wore a little more of my untrieds. Luckily, they don't "run away" too fast :-)

  6. I knew I liked this shade :) Both look amazing on you, and you know how I feel about Cu. :) It's fun watching something/one close to you make it big and I think the splash Cadillaccquer is making is highly awesome. I need to start watching Breaking Bad.

    1. Hi sis - thank you so much - indeed we walk the same beat with Cu ;-) (once more)!! I hope that Cadillacquer will continue to fill that niche of classy yet edgy Indies - whatever I tried so far is spot on for everyday wear for me vs saving stuff for an imaginative, incredible number of festive occasions - LOL!!! xxx

    1. Dear Madeleine - I HOPE I do your beautiful polishes justice in my way of presenting them - mind you, I don't have any fancy lights or cameras.... I am very taken by your whole concept and as replied to one of the comments, your polishes are spot on for my everyday wear. It is the classiness that comes with a healthy dose of edgyness that makes them so unique in my books - I hope to have many more occasions to devote a whole week to your polishes <3
