A England Briarwood

There was still one last polish I bought from the Burne-Jones Collection by A England that I haven't yet shown here. It was the one that tagged along somewhat behind but oh my Briarwood is a STUNNER:

the above pictures are taken indoors in daylight, the photo below outdoors in the shade

the below pictures are taken in artificial light

I applied two coats of A England Briarwood over Essence XXL Nail Thickener. The formula indeed is on the thick side and while not hard to apply I would still recommend to avoid going over the same area twice as you might experience bald spots or polish dragging.

I was asked by @polishmad on Instagram to do a comparison between A England Briarwood and Enchanted Polish Vampire's Dessert:

I applied two coats of Enchanted Polish Vampire's Dessert on my middle finger and as you can see from all of the above pictures taken in various lighting - the two of them are not to be compared. I think the differences are clearly visible and don't need to be repeated in words except that the holo in Briarwood is scattered an not rainbowy and in Vampire's Dessert it is linear and covers some of the rainbows colors.

Final thoughts: A England Briarwood lines up side by side by it's beautiful pals from the Burne-Jones Collection. I admittedly was less than thrilled by the careful application needed and the longer dry-time. But once dry this polish shows all its beauty. And I also reconsidered my new attitude that nail painting is something to be done quick in between 15 or so other tasks I would like to handle. A England reminded me to enjoy painting my nails and taking time for it. To lean back and wait for the polish to dry, to enjoy each step of doing a mani. So for sure all of the Burne-Jones Collection polishes I own will hold a special place in my stash!!!

I ordered A England Briarwood with Llarowe.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

  3. Just amazing, this one. Nice observation about a-Englands giving you reason to slow down and enjoy the pampering routine of painting your nails... So easy for it to become a grooming chore but there is truly nothing like adorning your nails with a beautiful color. It's why we're all doing this, anyway :)

    1. Thank you Liesl <3!!! Applying Briarwood gave me a moment of contemplation in fact - I decided to again go more slowly at painting my nails and especially for the manis I wear through the week, take decent time to choose and paint :-)

  5. Salut christine! What a lovely shade for Fall, it looks so sultry! And I know what you mean about enjoying painting the nails, I miss that so much, once upon a time, when I painted my nails 1x per week I took 1 hour or more to pamper my hands and paint my nails. Now, even doing nail art all is in a rush!! I've been doing manis for a challenge (soon to be started) and I managed to screw every single one by rushing so much!!
Have a lovely Sunday, ma biche, xxx

    1. Salut ma belle!!! Thank you so much :-) and you describe exactly what I remembered as well while painting Briarwood onto my nails. And oh my, I know what you mean by screwing your nails - been there, done that. Especially when I am doing a Skittelette or put glitter over a cream…. I had a lovely Sunday - I hope you as well - FAMILY TIME!!!! Bisous xxx
