My NOTDs of the week

My "Glitter Me" week has totally tuned me into bold colors. Color Club Wild Cactus is an exact replica of the green color pencil from Caran d'Ache I had as a kid.

I applied two coats of Color Club Wild Cactus over Zoya Anchor Base Coat. The application was very easy and Wild Cactus dries fast to a nice shine. BUT beware when removing the polish - Wild Cactus can smudge BADLY and you will end up with nicely colored green fingers if not carefully removed!!! My nails though got not stained - it is just removal that causes issues.

I am very enthusistic about two particular brands at the moment - the first one is Elevation Polish (the second one comes further down).  I already showed two of my Elevation Polishes - Jungfrau and Toubkal. Now it's the turn of Elevation Polish El Cap:

above in daylight, below in artificial light

I applied three coats of El Cap over Zoya Anchor Base Coat. The first coat of El Cap went on sheer but since the formula is such a dream to work with and is so saturated it provides nice opacity at two coats but to intensify the shimmer I added a third one. Dry time is normal, wear excellent!!!

The second brand I am so enthusiastic about is Pahlish, not an exactly new Indie Brand and also not my very first Pahlish but this one sort of really kicked-off my exitement when Melissa over from Lacquer Reverie posted it. I think, I ordered it even before typing my comment - LOL. But I still haven't mentioned which polish I am babbling about here - so straight on to the pictures of Pahlish Continually Smoldering:

I applied two coats of Pahlish Continually Smoldering over one coat of A England Camelot. The application was wonderfully easy - I actually could PAINT versus dabbing on the polish (I prefer this). Just the bigger red glitters wanted to cling together but nothing out of the ordinary and I could easily push them apart. Continually Smoldering dries fast and relatively smooth. Still, I like my manis either shiny or matte - I finished the look with one coat of A England The Shield Top Coat. I turned the bottle upside down about 15 minutes prior to application and I assume it helped having also the bigger glitters on the brush. No fishing was required. Wear was excellent, I only had one tiny chip on one nail after four days!

To go out on Saturday I wanted to have something blingy but dark AND I wanted to try my newest Pahlish What Do You Mean, It's Blue?!. This is teal, green and silver glitter in a dark teal jelly base. The silver glitters are tiny to small and appear blue in the base color, the greens small to a little bit bigger and then there is also some green bar glitter. I am seriously no fan of bar glitter but as sparse as they are in my bottle I have no issues with them ;-)

I don't like to use jelly glitters on their own - too many coats. I started out with one coat of Opi Eurso Euro, then one coat of Jade Twist and THEN one coat of Pahlish What Do You Mean It's Blue?! The application once more is fantastic and no glitter clumping or what have you. It dried quickly to a smooth surface and I finished the mani with one coat of A England The Shield Top Coat.

On the last picture I have on my pinkie and index just Opi Eurso Euro and Jade Twist, on my ring and middle already the finished look with What Do You Mean It's Blue?!

I look forward to reading your comments, thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

  2. Yours is the second swatch of El Cap I've seen this week. It's stunning and you captured it amazingly, sis. And Wild Cactus is gorgeous, too, it reminds me of OPI Jade Is The New Black and also how much I need to wear it again. Sooo glad it didn't stain your nails! Loves to you headed into the new week ♥

    1. Hi Liesl :-D really - how awesome, Elevation Polish deserves all the stage space it gets!!! Wild Cactus is maybe a bit more saturated, pigmented than Jade Is The New Black - but I so totally love that one too and for me goes the same - it is wayyyyy to long since I used it last! The start of the week was neat and smooth - I hope this goes for you as well xxx
