Saturday Skittelette featuring Deborah Lippmann Single Ladies

I continue to follow Essie from i Heart Pretty Polish and try to show more of my older polishes that I truly love but rarely got to wear as I continuously buy new stuff (tstststs ;-)). So todays' Skittelette will feature one of my favorite vampy reds: Deborah Lippmann Single Ladies. The inspiration for this Skittelette is from wonderful Marta from ChitChat Nails.

The Ingredients (from left)
Essie Sleek Sticks Love To Love You, Deborah Lippmann Today Was A Fairytale, A England Excalibur, Deborah Lippmann Single Ladies

Recipe:
Pinkie: one coat of A England Excalibur, one coat of Deborah Lippmann Today Was A Fairytale
Ring: Essie Sleek Stick Love To Love You
All others: two coats of Deborah Lippmann Single Ladies

I remember when I got Single Ladies - I was not yet practiced in painting my nails and I just could not manage to get away with less than three coats - how times have changed. I applied Deborah Lippmann Single Ladies in very light brushstrokes and it resulted in this dark and juicy high shine finish.

Thoughts to Essie Sleek Sticks: They are remarkably thinner than the NCLA Nail Wraps I tried. They come in strips of eighteen sticks, variously shaped. The application is really easy and the sticks have sort of an elastic quality that allow a very good placement and adjustment on the nail. HOWEVER, since they are so thin, they really show all imperfections of your nails (ridges in my case) and to be quite honest, I don't like this too much. But they make a great and easy accent nail. As for wear - I tried them before and on me they went two days. At the end of the second day, the tips were frayed - EEEK! Removal was easy and swift, I had no residue left of my nails.

Have you tried any of Essie's Sleek Sticks? What was your experience?

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine
