Lastly, I have NCLA Candy Coat Butter Me Up for you. This was the hardest of the four textured polishes with regard to making it look as pretty in the pictures as it did on the nails. Butter Me Up is a yellow toned beige with fine golden shimmer. Hence only two pictures - all the others were plain ugly.
I applied two coats of NCLA Candy Coat Butter Me Up over my regular Base Coat. The formula again was sweet and nice to work with. The coats went on sheer but even and my mani was opaque in two coats. I used not too thin coats to prevent bold patches. Dry time was really quick for a textured polish.
And for those of you who might wonder what Opi Honey Ryder might look next to Butter Me Up - here is the comparison:
Pinkie and middle: two coats of NCLA Candy Coat Butter Me Up
Ring and index: one coat of Opi Honey Ryder
Here my preference is so clear - I like Opi Honey Ryder way more. NCLA Butter Me Up is simply nothing doing for me and while IRL it didn't look as horrible as in the photos, I am afraid no shade of tan - soft or roasted chicken would improve its look on me. So yes, this is definitely a purchase I would not have had to made, in short FAIL.
Final thoughts: this shade is not only polarizing in its color but clearly also who can wear it nicely. It's weird beige-yellow-golden tone is giving us a real challenge here.
I ordered NCLA Candy Coat Butter Me Up with Pshiiit Boutique.
I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for stopping by!

It looks cool on you though :)
ReplyDeleteOh thank you dear Ina, looking at the pictures I have to admit, this looks more flattering in my photos than it did IRL - for once it is this way round ;-) xxx
DeleteLOLOL...just plain ugly huh? This does indeed look like magic butter...the kind you could slather all over a biscuit and eat and eat and not get fat! :D Very pretty.
