Cadillacquer State of Emergency

Today I have the last of my picks of Cadillacquer's Spring 2014 Collection Seek the Fire. State of Emergency is a very me shade - dark, vampy and with some "extras"… It is a blackened base with dark burgundy shimmer, bigger magenta shimmer and plenty of holo dust.

and now a whole string of outdoor photos taken in the sun:

you see the fine holo dust visible on my middle and ring finger? It is more visible IRL

I applied two coats of Cadillacquer State of Emergeny over my regular base coat. As State of Emergency has a jelly formula the first coat went on sheer and a tad streaky, but a medium second coat provided an even opacity and plenty of depth to give room for the shimmer to play. Dry time was fairly quick. Again I didn't use any Top Coat hoping for some holo visibility and finally I succeeded!!!

Final thoughts: Madeleine, I am thoroughly, deeply impressed by your new collection!!! I only ordered six of the nine newly released polishes, but rather to save me some for a later order than any other reason. To me it also seems that the formula got a work-over. I liked the consistency and "behavior" of Cadillacquer polishes before but it seems in the new formula is more pigment and slightly amended consistency that turned out to be a remarkable improvement in application.

I ordered Cadillacquer State of Emergency with their own Bigcartel shop here.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

    1. Thank you Gelic, you are right, it does have a autumn feel but then I don't care about Season and on top of it in Switzerland we seem to have had one endless autumn and no winter it sort of still fits from that perspective <3

  2. Hi pet! I love the sun pics! What a stunning shimmer effect! Hope you are having a wonderful crime night! I'm watching a Swedish crime film based on a book of Lisa Marklund. Have you heard of her? Her first books are really really good! Viele Küsschen!! xxx

    1. Hi doll, oh I never heard of her, thanks for the tip! Right now they show Camilla Läkerberg series, I am not overly fond of it, very brooding and depressing without really much else going on - or at least the two episodes I saw left this impression with me. I was SOOOO lucky to catch that sun, this polish really lives up then and is not as unique in overcast grey end if winter weather - viele Küsschen xxx

  3. I'm loving photo #4! <3 Very unusual color...reminds me a bit of OPI Have You Seen My Limo but with holo dust. One day I shall own at least one of every fabulous brand you feature. *sigh*

    1. Thank you Melissa xxx! Picture no 4 is giving a very good impression what it looks IRL - though one and two shows exactly what it looks indoors. A very Melissa shade, no? I have to google that Opi shade and you would love those Cadillacquers - mature with a twist xxx
