Comparison request: Cadillacquer I'm The One Who Knocks vs A England Dragon

After having shown Cadillacquer I'm The One Who Knows I got a couple of requests from my readers and on IG to compare it to A England Dragon. To start the story here's a picture of Cadillacquer I'm The One Who Knows on its own and the link to my original post here.

And now let's move on ogling the two next to each other - sorry, another picture spam but there were plenty of angles to cover ;-) - but first up a bottle comparison

and now on to the "real thing":

after all those pictures taken in the sun this is what it looks in the shade:

and indoors in daylight:

…and in artificial light

Ring and index: Cadillacquer I'm The One Who Knows, middle: A England Dragon

I applied two of each of the two polishes. Formula wise they are more or less identical, I wouldn't be able to favour the one or the other, both went on smooth and silky. Dry time of Cadillacquer I'm The One Who Knows is a bit faster.

But then we want to look at the differences in the polish, right? While the base colors certainly are similar the differences lay in the effects - OK so let's have a look at I'm The One Who Knows

looks greyer even charcoal around the edges
has a silvery sheen in the sun
contains green micro glitter particles
has a weaker scattered holo effect

and now on to A England Dragon

is a more yellow toned green
has a holo-depth to it
contains bigger and stronger holo particles

Final thoughts: While I really love I'm The One Who Knows I have to admit A England Dragon continues to hold a cult status in my personal polish ranking. But while Dragon sits closer to my heart I have to admit that I'm The One Who Knows suits my skin tone better as it lacks the yellow tint in the green. The question which one you would need or both really only depends on your preference for finishes and if you love green nail polish like me, I consider them different enough to own both.

I bought Cadillacquer I'm The One Who Knows from Madeleine's own Bigcartel e-shop.

I look forward to reading your comments - I hope this comparison was helpful to you - thanks for visiting!!!

Christine

    1. Thank you Melissa xxx!!! Oh I tell you, I had Dragon on for a dinner with friends and we were seated at a table with spot Hallogen little lamps - one of them always on my hands sporting Dragon - I had to stare all evening at Piggy claws - ugh!!! But heck, I love that sparkle….

    1. Hi Clare - thank you so much <3!!! I think most of us agree on Dragon being a nose-lenght (as we say in German) leading the pack. You will love them A Englands - I am sure :-)

    1. Thank you Ina xxx!!! I know, Dragon gets more love here but the Cadillacquer is a SU-PER stunner too and when I wore it, I got quite some compliments - also because it suited my skin tone just so much better!

  6. Dragon gets my vote for the same reason as yours, plus it's just that much deeper and more holo-y :) BUY ALL THE A-ENGLANDS!!! Heh. I might like it better on you, too... Isn't it fun how subjective these things can be? And it's the gold flash that does it.

    1. Oh indeed - we need those A Englands - this brand really holds such a special place in my heart - and trust me, it looks nice in the pictures here but oh Lordy Lord - it turns my hands into plain rosy pink - as if you would paint the hoofs of a piglet - LOL!!! But thank you - this encourages me to wear it again (see my reply to Melissa ;-P)
