My NOTDs of the week

There - I did it - Gold Finger - LOL!!! This past Monday was the first day ever I walked this planet with golden nails. Mind you, I took a subdued approach with not such an in the eye shade. I finally got around to wear Opi Honey Ryder from the James Bond Girls Liquid Sand Collection.

the above picture is taken indoors in daylight, the below photo outside in the sun

I applied two coats over Zoya Anchor Base Coat. Honey Ryder is very pigmented and for those who care - you could get away with one coat. Application was a breeze, formula fantastic and it had the usual slightly longer dry time than a normal cream.

I promised myself to more often use older untried polishes and since I was still anxiously awaiting the arrival of my pre-order of the Cult Nails Road Trip Collection to arrive I dove into my untried Culties. This is the awesome Evil Queen, another perfect classic bright red.

I applied two fabulously easy coats over Zoya Anchor Base Coat and used Cult Nails Wicked Fast Top Coat. The formula is awesome, application quick and effortless as the drying time. Evil Queen is another one of those all time elegant bright reds, sigh, I never get tired of them. I got Evil Queen like Manipulative during one of Cult Nails Sale days sometime last year.

Wearing Evil Queen must have been the necessary nudge to finally have my pre-order of the Road Trip Collection arrive at my door. I really like the pre-order option with Cult Nails. Sure - you will have to get the whole collection but sofar this has never been a tough decision. Road Trip was no different and I was quite in agony what to use first. Party Time was difficult to photograph so there is just one picture of it. This was the closest I could come to the IRL color, I would say though it is more vibrant and vivid .

I applied two coats of Cult Nails Party Time over Zoya Anchor Base Coat and finished the mani with Cult Nails Wicked Fast Top Coat. The formula is excellent, I could paint my nails with perfect precision, no clean-up needed (which could proof to be a challenge with such blues). The wear is fantastic - I had no tip wear at all after two days. Removal was good except that I had one finger stained. Usually I can wash off any stain with a good hand wash with a normal soap but this time holds firm, my nail is still slightly tinted as I type this. But since I always wear colored polish I don't really care.

Lastly I felt the urge to wear a dark, dark polish. As previously and repeatedly mentioned I want to grow my nails a tad longer before I wear glitter so a Contrary Polish with its deep and soft shimmer was just a perfect choice. This is Contrary Polish Candle Light released in the Limited Edition Holiday Collection for 2012. The base of Candle Light looks to me like a very blackened green and brown but then maybe the brown is induced by the many golden micro-glimmer particles in the polish. However to me Candle Light looks nearly black in most of the lightning.

I applied two coats of Candle Light over Essence XXL Nail Thickener and used Cult Nails Wicked Fast as Top Coat. The application was really easy and it dried quickly. The shimmer is a little less visible than with other Contrary Polishes I own but still visible and glows deep when hit by direct sunlight.

I forgot to try how Cult Nails All Out looks over Party Time, so I thought I slap it on for day 2. I applied one thin coat over Contrary Polish Candle Light.

On another blog I read that Cult Nails All Out is a reminder of the Ozotic 900 line - now let's have a look: Index two coats of Cult Nails All Out, middle one thicker coat of Ozotic 904, ring one coat of Cult Nails All Out, pinkie one thin coat of Ozotic 904. I think the picture is pretty self explanatory.

Phew, that's it for that week!!! My favorite (to no ones surprise I guess) was Cult Nails Party Time. But I for sure liked all of the others too. If push comes to shove I would not choose Candle Light again during summer - it really is a winter shade - and this coming from me who usually doesn't really care for the season.

I ordered Opi Honey Ryder with Nail Etc., I get my Cult Nails polishes either from their own website or from Harlow & Co. I ordered Contrary Polish Candle Light with Llarowe.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

    1. Hi Melissa, awww thank you love. Well I am afraid we Swiss are a people of beige and brown and navy! Not to mention that nearly everyone here has either fake nails in French manicure or pink and red nails. Even turquoise goes into the highest league of extravagance - but since I now dipped my fingers into it I will go back there soon - LOL!!! Cuddles to the nicely groomed babies - loved your photos!!! Xxx

    1. Hi Yun - yay thank you!!! It really bears a certain decandency - LOL!!! All Out will change the face of so many of my polishes, I am sure. I like that it is not super dense and allows a better measure in the effect you would like to achieve - have a great start of the week xxx

    1. Hi Vicky - haha - thank you!!! This is for me a perfect week too, well nearly! I love it if I was happy with all my choices since I hardly have the time to take a polish off and change it should I be displeased - I then have to go for a day or two with it ;-)
