Kiko Sugar Mat 644 - Twinsie Post with Little Miss Nailpolish

This week's theme of textured polishes has a spontaneous and very exiting bonus: a Twinsie post with my wonderful blogger friend Jezz from Little Miss Nailpolish - thank you Jezz for suggesting this great post :-)!!!!

I received TWO bottles of Kiko Sugar Mat 644 - one bottle from my dear friend Antonella (remember - her other gift to me, Kiko Sugar Mat 634 had its limelight moment this Wednesday) and one bottle I received from my IG friend @natacha_wears_a_tutu - we did a MAJOR swap some weeks back.

The above two pictures are taken indoors in daylight, the below photo outside in the sun

As with all other polishes shown this week I started with Essence XXL Nail Thickener as Base Coat and applied two coats of Kiko Sugar Mat 644. The first coat was already providing decent opacity and the second was smoothing out the one or other "pale" patch on my nails. The consistency of Kiko 644 is thicker than the one of 634 and while I found that Kiko 634 calls for a careful application, Kiko 644 is really a "slap and go" polish. It was really interesting to review two textured polishes from the same brand that differ in finish - the discrepancy in formula was quite evident. I really start to be convinced that shimmer or glitter particles act as mortar in the sauce and keep the polish together. The consistency seems more creamy and dries faster. It dried relatively fast to a "dry to the touch" level but took certainly 30 minutes to thoroughly dry (I have the proof, the nail on my ring finger of the other hand got smudged). Also with Kiko 644 I found it core to have enough polish on your brush to comfortably paint one nail evenly. Selflevelling is not a textured polish quality - which makes sort of sense given the nature of the sauce.

Final thoughts: I like the blurple character of Kiko 644 - and am the proud owner of a back-up bottle ;-). 644 is a color I wear well and I just love those kind of blue on the edge of blurple shades!!!

Please, don't miss out ogling Jezz pictures and read her experience - she took awesome pictures and wrote a very helpful review!!! Funny enough - we both came to nearly the same conclusions - hahaha - and I SWEAR on my bottle of Chanel Taboo - I DID NOT READ HER POST BEFORE HAVING TYPED MINE!!!!!

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

    1. Hi Süsse - I don't want to hear anything about better posts of the one or the other - NOT TRUE!!! I think we both reviewed the same polish in our authentic manner!!!! When I read your post, I slapped myself too the one or the other time thinking, I could have covered this part as well instead of FORGETTING it - but hey, this is what Twinsies are supposed to do -right? I tried Top Coat and I found out I need like a ton - eeeeeks not for me!!! No matter the result. Thank you so much love for your supportive comment. Viele Küsschen xxx
