The week starts with Emily de Molly Abstract Canvas. Fans of this Aussie Indie Brand certainly have seen, read and heard about Abstract Canvas. It is all bright colors captured in a bottle. The icing on the cake are big black circular glitters - but why am I babbling away here, the pictures do way better talking than me:
The above two pictures are taken indoors in daylight, the photo below outdoors in the shade
I started with applying two coats of Cult Nails You're My Dandy Lion (this yellow has me truly and deeply drawn into the yellow polish league). I then applied just one coat of Emily de Molly Abstract Canvas. The glitters spread easy and nice only the big black circular glitters wanted to get fished out, but then I once more forgot to put the bottle upside down a couple of minutes prior to swatching :-S!!!
It really took me some patience to get hold of Emily de Molly Abstract Canvas - it used to be out of stock within minutes of the restock, but patience is a virtue and was DETERMINED to call it mine one day ;-)!!! I like the variety of base colors that look nice with Abstract Canvas - however, I prefer it over lighter colors - it really makes the mani pop!!
And just for quick reference a picture of Cult Nails You're My Dandy Lion:
I ordered Emily de Molly Abstract Canvas with Llarowe.
I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine
It looks great. The yellow is a perfect base for it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Emma - glad you like it :-)
DeleteDon't think I will ever get tired of the circle glitter trend, swoooon
ReplyDeleteHi Becca - this is my first circle glitter polish and I really like it, so happy that you like my post :-)
DeleteI love circle glitter...and what is it about layering a glitter over yellow? It gives it such a fun feeling...kinda like being a little kid again. Lovely mani!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa, it does make a glitter pop differently if it is layered over yellow - I agree!! And you well you put it - as a kid one used to be quite exited about anything yellow - or pink for that matter ;-)!!! Thank you so much dear xxx
DeleteHi pet! Oooooh! A glitter week!! How exciting!!! :D
ReplyDeleteYou made a great choice to layer this glitter over that gorgeous yellow! I think both polishes benefited on that! The yellow got more fun and the glitter needed a bright base!
I personally think the large black glitters are too big but I like it on you! Otherwise the glitter combination looks stunning! It's really annoying to have to chase a polish so much but the feel when you've actually got it also increases then, don't you think? ;) The thrill of the chase ;) lol!
Viele Küsschen!!! xxx
Hi cupcake - thank you so much <3! The circle glitters ARE big - I even had my nails longer than usual, it would look ridiculous on numbs - imagine, like a hole in your finger - LOL!!! And yes, the thrill of the chase - haha! Those were easy - then I have some when the time it takes to coax them onto the brush manages to transform thrill to annyance ;-)!!! I agree with you - I think, yellow should be used way more often as base for glitter polishes - it is an epitome of summer. I am curious what you will say to my other choices for the week ;-) but they ALL are colorful - I promise...
DeleteOh! I forgot! I've added our Vintage Challenge as a permanent picture with link to the post in the left column of my blog! I should have done this ages ago but I forgot :/ Would you like to do the same on your blog...? It's not a must! Only if you feel like it!! Puss! xxx
ReplyDeleteOf course I want to do that - what a lame duck I am sometimes. I did not even think of it. I will try tonight at home. - Viele Küsschen
DeleteNo, you're not silly!! :) I forgot too!! Let me know if you need any assistance! Puss! <3
DeleteSuch a fun look! What a great way to use a yellow!
