Saturday Skittlette featuring Bondi Blue Skies

Earlier this week Marta from ChitChat Nails has shown one of her signature Skittlettes using a bright red and a sky blue. I have been trying to come up with an idea of how to combine these two colors for a while now and once more, Marta managed to give my imagination the much needed nudge:

The cast:

The ingredients (from left):
La Couleur Couture 1945, Bondi Blue Skies, Opi Pirouette My Whistle, Cult Nails Tempest

The recipe:
Pinkie: Two coats of Cult Nails Tempest, dotted with Bondi Blue Skies
Ring and middle: Two coats of Bondi Blue Skies, one coat of Opi Pirouette My Whistle
Index: La Couleur Couture 1945

Cult Nails Tempest is really the best white EVER. It applies like ANY perfect cream polish without the usual hassle of patches, streaks and what have you. La Couleur Couture 1945 is the perfect classic bright red, I realize, I need to do a proper review on this soon. The application is flawless and it dries to a high shine that does not necessarily need a Top Coat.

Since this post is featuring Bondi Blue Skies, I thought I also show you this polish on worn on all nails:

Bondi Blue Skies is wonderful to apply, it flows easily onto the nail - however, I always try to apply my coats as lightly as possible to avoid any uneven application. I found the only downside of Blue Skies to be its not entirely selfleveling quality.

Final thoughts: I really liked the fresh look of this Skittlette - the blue and red gave a perfect mani for a day as beautiful as this Saturday was here. As for Bondi Blue Skies: I really like how classy yet a tad eclectic Blue Skies looks on the nails. Now this is a light blue, that I find corporate and I see myself wearing it regularly to the office this season.

I ordered Bondi Blue Skies and La Couleur Couture with Harlow & Co, Cult Nails Tempest from Cult Nails' own website and Opi Pirouette My Whistle with Bath & Unwind (please note, they do not deliver nailpolish internationally anymore).

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

And, I never thought I'd say that, but I think I have a lemming on white creme polish! how is that possible? I have been searching for a good white for so long! Thanks for sharing.

    1. Salut Nati, thank you so much my dear friend!!! I think you would love this blue as well and as for the white: I fought the urge to buy it for months now, but I guarantee, it is incredible and just for your info: Cult Nails does regular special offers - that's how I got mine, so it is not only a great purchase but also economically justifiable ;-) bisous xxx

    1. Hi doll, awww thank you so much, feel soooo honored by your comment!!! The dots were an afterthought - unfortunately I am still quite jittery - will go on for a while, so I don't venture into anything beyond dots - they are hard enough ;-) - viele Küsschen xxx
