My NOTDs of the week

Looking back what I slapped onto my nails all week, it proofs to be a happy mix of bright colors. Let's look:

I started the week of Cult Nails Annalicious. Frankly, I would not know what to say about this polish that has not been mentionned before. Summary: it's perfect!!! If you are a lover of red nailpolish it is a must-have in my eyes.

just look how the shimmer pops in artificial light:

I applied two wonderfully easy coats of Cult Nails Annalicious. I used Zoya Anchor as Base Coat and Dior Gel Coat.

I did treat myself with some bottles of the new to the market brand Bondi. Lady Liberty is a wonderful turquoise blue leaning cream.

The above picture is taken in artificial light, the below photo indoors in daylight

I applied two medium thick coats. Base Coat: Zoya Anchor Base Coat. Top Coat: Dior Gel Coat. Now we all know that pastels and light colors can be tricky to apply (read patches and streaks). But once more Bondi surprised me with a very easy and very workable formula that spreads nicely onto the nail. I try to apply any polish in light strokes and with Bondi it certainly helps to minimize its only flaw: not entirely selfleveling. I did some experimenting and found medium thick coats work better for me than very thin coats.

Gloss'n Sparkle Fruit Tingle has been sitting in my "soon to try drawer" since I got it and finally it got its spot in the limelight.

I started with Zoya Anchor Base Coat and then applied two coats of Gloss'n Sparkle Fruit Tingle. I used Dior Gel Coat to finish the look. Now if you prefer a completely opaque look you sure might consider applying a third coat but I really don't like my nails painted thickly and with uneven surface (except for the Liquid Sands of course ;-)). However Fruit Tingle is incredible dense with glitter (aka thick) but really easy to apply and I found the glitter spread so nicely without any pushing or dabbing from my end.

It is now already a couple of weeks since I posted a Skittle in my NOTDs of the week post using colors from Cult Nails In the Garden Collection - you can see the original post here. I wore Cult Nails Morning Glory using a Top Coat. Now I wanted to have it with its beautiful wax finish on my nails:

The above two pictures are taken indoors in daylight, below in artificial light - can you see just how much this shade can shift depending on lightning?

Due to my ridged nails I applied it as follows: I started out with one coat of Essence XXL Nail Thickener. Then I applied one (very smooth and easy) coat of Cult Nails Morning Glory. Then I applied one coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Coat and applied on top another coat of Cult Nails Morning Glory. This had no impact on wear or dry time but one could hardly see any ridges anymore.

So, that's it for this week - do you have any particular favorites? What did you wear on your nails this week?

I buy my Cult Nails from their own website, Bondi Lady Liberty with Harlow & Co and Gloss n Sparkle Fruit Tingle with Llarowe.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine
