Serum No 5 Forest Lights over Catrice Miss Piggy's BF

Who is Miss Piggy's BF? Right - Kermit - isn't Kermit's color just perfectly represented in this Catrice polish?

I have googled Catrice Miss Piggy's BF before applying it and read some not so delighted comments about Catrice's new brush. To be very honest I had no issues whatsoever with it and the application of Miss Piggy's BF was easy and quick. Miss Piggy's BF dries to the high shine as shown in the picture (taken indoors in daylight). Drying time is on the faster side. If I would have owned this polish when I did my green week it most certainly would have been included ;-)!!!

Another new to my stash brand is Serum No 5. Mei Mei's Signature holds a nice range of choice of Serum No 5 and given the mostly sold out status it seems pretty well in demand. One of the polishes that spoke to me AND still were in stock is Forest Lights. Its olive shimmering base is a bit sheer for my taste and I just cannot get around to wear more than three coats to achieve opacity so I will wear it mostly layered:

the above pictures are taken indoors in daylight, the photo below in artificial light

I am smitten with Serum No 5 Forest Lights - the formula is drop dead gorgeous while sheer not runny at all and the glitters spread easily and nicely over the nails. The pictures show exactly how the glitter applied on the nail, no dabbing or shoving to achieve this result.

How many layers of polish would you be willing to apply to achieve opacity?

I ordered Serum No 5 Forest Lights with Mei Mei's Signatures and bought Catrice Miss Piggy's BF with Manor.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

  1. Gorgeous combo!
I use as many layers as it is necessary. I often wear up to 8 layers (basecoat, base color, glitter polish, topcoat)...

    1. Thank you :-)!!! Wow up to eight layers, but of course I should have been more clear in my post. I always use base coat and for my daily manis I use top coat as well so this sums up to usually 4-5 layers in total. But when there are too many of them it feels as if I have some bandaid over my nails!!!

    1. Hi lovey, LOL, I don't know what it is with me lately that I crave for coral - maybe I am overworked or something ;-)!!! I agree, I like this shade more on me than the Pupa!!! And yes it looks drop dead gorgeous on its own. And I am with you regarding the name. However I was so tired that I took my own sweet time to get it :-S!!! Have a wonderful evening too - Küsschen xxx

  4. Great combo! The glitter polish look fantastically fun! As for how many coats I'm willing to put up with, I would say three. Any more than that starts to look thick on my nails. But I also don't mind if a polish isn't totally opaque. :-)
