Lilypad Lacquer Rainbows in Space

The second the weather gets all summery and hot, I feel the need to wear dark nailpolish, weird, eh? Thankfully there are plenty of sun appropriate blacks, dark blues, purples and what have you - yes, I am talking holo here ;-)! Today I have an awesome deep black holo for you coming from one of my favorite brands right now: Lilypad Lacquer!!!

Rainbows in Space throws linear holo in red, green and blue. In the sun, I also detected a golden shine but opposed to other bloggers observations, the shine was invisible outside the sun - maybe I just didn't give Rainbows in Space a thorough enough shake.

I applied three thin coats of Lilypad Lacquer Rainbows in Space over my regular Base Coat. Whoa, what a pleasure to apply. Smooth, creamy, even and quick drying - my holo heart just amped up a beat or two!! It dries just a tad dull so I finished my mani with Glisten&Glow HK Girl. IRL the holo was a healthy dose stronger - about as strong as you see it sparkling in the bottle in my last picture.

Final thoughts: I just love Lilypad Lacquer Rainbows in Space (as any other Lilypad Lacquer I tried so far). And wouldn't you agree, that such a beautiful holo is the perfect compromise to get away with dark as dark is possible nails on a sunny summer day?

I ordered Lilypad Lacquer Rainbows in Space with Llarowe but as of last week, they are also available with Pshiiit Boutique - YAYYYY (my credit card cringes - LOL)!

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!

  2. I've been itching to wear some darks, too, but somehow found myself with a nude colored PixieDust on my nails, instead... Anyhoo, this is one gorgeous holo and the name makes me think of the Muppets-- Pigs In Spaaaaace!!!! And seriously-- these indies have their holo formulas nailed and any big name who can't get it right has no excuse, lol.

    1. You got me hollering - Pigs in Spaaaace!!! And Ms Piggy going all ompfh - SQUEAL!!!! You nailed it - no excuse of big brands to screw holo formulas anymore - but honestly, with all those unique Indies out there I gannot imagine lemming for a holo by a biggie anymore. Nude is lovely too and for me the only difference between Seasons is that in Summer I want to wear all the colors out there while in winter I am more selective - have a lovely day and as always thank you for making me laugh xxx

  3. I usually don't get the itch to wear dark colors (it's all about brights and neons for me), but for some strange reason, I couldn't stop myself from putting a dark color on my toes yesterday lol. Love this shade on you! The holo effect comes across so clearly again the dark color! :)

    1. Hi Yun, thank you so much!!!! I know, I am odd but I feel drawn to dark colors more in summer than winter - the holo justifies the need to wear it in summer rather than in murky winter ;-)! Oh I love dark painted toe nails - very cool!!!! <3
