Picture Polish Aurora

When Picture Polish released their latest set of polishes - this time multi chrome gems with some special effects - the nail polish community swooned in unison - or so I gathered from the gushing and oohing in the Blogsphere. I went bold and got myself the whole bunch and I want to show you today the limited edition shade Aurora.

Aurora has a sheer dark base, on my nails it looks like a barely tinted black clear liquid.  But oh lala, what treasure that base holds - myriads of teal shimmer that shifts purple depending on the light - and it is filled with teal and purple micro glitter. Now Aurora is very, very sheer. I tried to see how many coats are needed if worn on its own - I stopped at four coats - the shine was there but the nail itself looked like some murky dark blotch.

I layered Aurora over Bourjois In the Navy, a vibrant true navy blue

outdoors in the shade

and now some pictures taken in the sun

and last but not least - under water

I applied two coats of Picture Polish Aurora over Bourjois In the Navy. The formula is sheer and the consistency is fantastic. It glides on easily and even onto the nail and dries quickly to a slightly gritty finish. I had to slap on two coats of Glisten&Glow HK Girl to achieve a smooth finish.

Final thoughts: Holy cow - Aurora is a stunner and a hot candidate already for my favorites of 2014.

I ordered Picture Polish Aurora directly with Picture Polish - I tell ya - I will go back there, everything there was perfect: availability, customer service, shipping - thank you Picture Polish for that awesome experience and yep, I certainly will come back shopping!!!

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for dropping by!!!
Christine

Though the tropical sea is a very true association too - and just a TAD easier to see with my own eyes ;-P! All is well here - I hope with Smilla and you as well - puss puss xxx

  3. Gorgeous! I have to remember that for when I'm going to wear it: don't layer it over black, but blue!

  6. :O I have no words!!! Okay, that's a lie, but OH MY this is a STUNNER!! And you've shown its every facet so very well! I've not been able to make myself spend money on a Picture Polish yet, but I think this HAS to be "the one" that makes me throw caution (& money) to the wind. :D You manage to get such amazing underwater photos to show duo/multichromes... congratulations on mastering what I consider an advanced & difficult technique!!

  7. Thank you Emily <3!!! Well I see that you are working on expanding your A England Collection - a noble cause and at least as special though incomparable!! Aurora is exceptional and if you plan on getting any make it this and make it fast because right now they threaten us with this being an LE. Underwater photo: take a clear Tupper Ware, fill it with some water, take an outdoor photo in the shade et voila - there you go ;-)
