ILNP Contraband

YAY!! Despite my worries my internet decided to be functional this evening - I am so happy to finally be able to kick off another themed week with Polished Marvels - this time round it will be purple  - and some of its cousins. This week is dedicated to my dear friend Essie and all purple lovers out there.

To start the week I want to show you ILNP (I Love Nail Polish) Contraband following my resolution to show new to my stash brands. Well, ILNP is not exactly brand new - I have shown already Nostalgia from their Holiday Trio here. But new enough to still qualify as a newcomer. But on to what‘s on my nails further down: Contraband is a blackened purple filled with blue and red shimmer particles.

the above pictures are taken indoors in day and artificial light, the below photo outside in the shade

I applied two coats of ILNP Contraband over Essence Hardening Nail Base. The formula was creamy and if you start with medium thick coats, you can even get away with one. I prefer a thin first coat and a medium second coat. It was such a pleasure to paint my nails with Contraband, the formula glides like velvet on the nail and is wonderfully selfleveling and, yes, quick drying. I finished the mani with one layer of Glitter Gal Gloss Boss Top Coat.

Final thoughts: A gorgeous sultry purple that despite is darkness never looks black and that shimmer glows awesomely against the dark base in most lighting.

I order ILNP through their own website here.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

    1. Thank you - oh Grapelicious is still in my untrieds, when I was musing about this post it was either or. The overcast weather sort of took the decision in the end ;-)!

  3. Hi pet! Aw bummer… a purple week ;) I don't like purple… ;) (nudge, nudge) ;) However, you pull it off amazingly and I have to admit I like the complexity of this polish when you look at it more closely. How annoying with your internet connection!!! I miss our chats… We must speak soon! Viele Küsschen!!! xx

    1. Hi pet - I know, no LMNP week - so sorry but I tried to stray a bit from only creams and maybe the one or the other is not entirely alien to you! Re our chats - see my comment - and there we were anticipating a slow January - HA! As wrong as wrong can get!!! Meanwhile hugs and love xxx

  6. I just adore inky blurple shades like this <3<3<3 Contraband looks unique because the shimmers seem bigger...but just slightly....amiright? I'm glad your internet is behaving but sometimes a forced break isn't a bad thing, know what I mean? :)

    1. But OF COURSE you are right - thank you sis! I hear you about the forced break, this week though would have been a bit a lot of force since I was so looking forward to giving Essie that purple week and I wanted to have it done a while back and always got polish-distracted so having had all my ducks in a row only to find my internet going haywire was annoying to put it mildly ;-)
