But now on to one precious nail polish that arrived on my doorstep earlier this week - Colors by Llarowe Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star (oh, I just adore this name…)! It should be a replica of the ever famous Essie Starry Starry Night. Now I don't own this infamous Essie but saw a fair share of photos and many more of brands releasing polishes trying to live up to it. Since I don't own Starry Starry Night I leave comparisons to others and focus on Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. It is a dark blue blue filled with silver micro glitter. What I love particularly, this blue is not leaning into any other color, just plain beautiful blue blue blue…. Like the sky can look like on a cold and clear winter night!
the above pictures are taken indoors in daylight, the below series outside in the sun
and outdoors in the shade:
lastly in artificial light:
I applied one thin and one medium coat of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star over Essence Hardening Nail Base. Being a jelly, it applies sheer upon the first coat, but the second coat transformed the polish into that dark blue with glinting glitters all over. I love the consistency which - probably thanks to all that micro glitter - is applicable like a cream. My brush though was somehow oddly voluminous and I therefore had some minor issues with painting the pinkies, sporting nubbins didn't really help I am afraid. It dried quickly and the surface was while not gritty not entirely smooth. But a layer of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer gave my mani an incredible shine.
Final thoughts: Another stunner from the magic polish-kitchen of Lhea Ann - she really spoils us with the most incredible intricate creations, I so hope for many, many more…….
Colors by Llarowe are exclusively available with Llarowe.

ReplyDeleteThank you dear Essie - haha I am feeling like a sedulous bee at times!!! Hope you are doing fine - please give my warmest regards to your two girls <3
DeleteThat color looks incredible! But would you say that this polish gets a gritty texture after a day or two, like glitter polishes tend to do? That's always a big pet peeve of mine, and I'd hate to buy a $12 polish that I'll never wear.
